I hit a bit of a milestone last weekend as I DJ'd for friends (or for anyone other than my living room) for the very first time for Halloween 🎃

And it couldn't have gone better! It was such a thrill making people happy with my selections. I was only meant to play for 2 hours, ended up being 3.5 hours, mixing spontaneously for the latter third.

Had such a great time, and it's given me the confidence to play a low-key slot somewhere publicly, and show my face 🫣 I may well give a video recording a go for YouTube soon enough to give Lilo Bill Selects, at least, a more personal touch.

Anyway, I recorded the mix for upload soon, and be warned, it's not my usual thing, but you've got to play to the crowd sometimes, ya know?

Happy Sunday all, hope you're chilling out if you're not working, but if you are, I hope work's not too bad or better. Spring's here in the UK and it's a relief to finally see some blue skies.

Just wanted to say hello as it's been a while. Being away and life generally has made mixing and uploading a little tricky.

Back on the case (and decks) this weekend with several mixes planned, including one I'm proof-listening now. It's a Best Of from one of the noughties' finest trance producers whose made a bit of a comeback this year, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for that this week, pending any trainwrecks 👀

Hope all 950+ of you are well. Approaching 1,000 subscribers now, which I never could've imagined (I'll do a live stream mix around the 1k mark if I can pluck up the courage 😅). So, thanks to you and to all listeners who keep me motivated to ensure the channel stays active.

Another week, another copyright mystery.

If you liked the Autumn Chill Mix from last year, sorry, but you can't listen to it any more because a few tracks are suddenly "illegal" or whatever. Must be from all the money I've made from the video...

However, you can still listen to Waters Deep (2nd Version), unmixed and ripe for stealing in its entirety on the channel, so that makes perfect sense, doesn't it! Total nonsense. I don't get it.

The same thing happens with Chicane tracks. It's only a matter of time before this gets blocked: https://youtu.be/vLfu09Cl61k

If someone could explain why unmixed uploads of tracks are ok, but mixed uploads are not, that would be appreciated. 🤷‍♀️

Hello there, been a while and wanted to note a couple of bits of YouTube frustration in the past couple of weeks:

1. The 'Best of 2022' mix has been blocked for UK-based viewers. Chicane tracks when mixed seem problematic, yet are fine when uploaded in full, unmixed and open to theft. I don't understand the logic. I may re-up the 2022 mix without the Chicane tracks, but that's quite a bit of time and effort.

2. Similarly, I spent quite a bit of time and effort putting together a Ferry Corsten mix. Unfortunately, that was blocked worldwide with licencing agreements once again spoiling the fun. If anyone can tell me why mixed tracks are prone to being blocked, I'd love to understand it better.

So, if you're wondering where the trance is lately, that Ferry Corsten mix was meant to fill that void.

Nevertheless, I'm working on a new mix and hope it can go live in all regions. It's a celebration of a particular year of a specific label that features the words 'Anjuna' and 'deep'...

Do not adjust your set.

Had a little tidy up over the festive break, as you can see. The original logo was starting to grate on me, especially when seeing it in mobile format, so here's the update: A little bolder, much simpler, retaining the 'lilo' for video thumbnails and - ultimately - as the main logo, but simplified for the icon, featuring the 'lilo' colours in the L and B, which won't need explaining if you've been a listener since 2019.

Hope you like. If not, you'll get used to it 😋

Same old Lilo Bill will continue in 2023, fear not.
