I know that I have not been super active on the channel this month. That has not been on purpose. I hope to have a lot more fun, interesting, and insightful videos for you all in June when I have a bit more time. In the meantime, check out a fellow language learner that I know and will be doing a very interesting collaboration with soon. Her Spanish is amazing and please tell her that I sent you!
When you get a chance, check out this interview that I did will Gabe and Greg of @NoTeRindasIntermediateEnglish . I think that you all will enjoy it!
My good friend Nick has finally uploaded his first video! If you haven't seen the video that I did with Nick a while back about how he learned Spanish is 10 months you should definitely check it out. He will be coming with even more videos on his new channel discussing all things Spanish. I'm very excited to see what he will be releasing and I know that it will help many of you. Check out his first video here and please tell him that I sent you!
I'm not sure if you all remember a video that I did years ago with a now friend, and then language partner named Andres from Chile. If you haven't seen that video, when you get a chance you should definitly check it out. Either way, Andres and I have been practicing his English along with the help of his other language exchange partners and he has made a lot of progress. I think that his English is amazing and I'm curious to know what you all think. Check out his channel here. This is what consistency looks like. I will be recording more videos with Spanish speakers that have learned English very soon as well so that we all can compare the language learning process from both perspectives. Tell Andres that I sent you!
I genuinely can't even fathom the fact that 20,000 of you have decided to click subscribe to my channel. I really do want to say thank you. I remember getting 100 subscribers and being uncontrollably excited because I did not start uploading on YouTube with the hopes of being a YouTuber. Thank you all, and I hope to continue to help! The irony of my recent videos is that I may still get back out traveling this year before January, so I hope you all enjoy the content that's coming. I have to go to Trinidad soon, but other than that, I'm thinking about Texas, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica, but with specific reasons to go there that should be exciting for you all to watch. Thanks again!
I am in the process of building a series of video lessons to teach Spanish from beginner to advanced level. Along with that, I plan to do case studies on Spanish from different countries. Also, I plan to create more videos that can help you all understand different nuances of the language that are not often taught. What I have in mind is similar to my "Guide to Colombian Spanish" video that was taken down. I've already started recording these videos, and I'm noticing that it will take a little over a month and a half to get everything recorded and uploaded. I'd also like to begin having weekly Zoom calls with those of you who are learning Spanish and have questions (in a group setting). I'm thinking that this community could lead to future meet-ups and group trips as well. With that said, I am planning on limiting the number of people that join at first to 100–200 people at the most for now, and I plan to put a small cost in place ($5–$15) as a barrier to entry to ensure serious learners are joining. I also know that the way that I teach is very unique, and I don't want to give internet copycats free access to my approach to teaching. With that said, I'm all about helping you all, so if there isn't an interest there, I won't do it. I'm sending this out just to gauge everyone's interest. If you are interested, I'll continue recording those videos, and if not, I'll simply continue on the path that the channel has been on, which I love. This small community will not impact my frequency of uploads or my videos at all. As I always say, this channel is simply to document my journey and others, along with my travels and overall experiences with Spanish. What I have in mind for this is totally different. I've been inspired by a few other Spanish YouTubers who are helping a lot of people this way, and I would like to follow in their footsteps and do the same. What do you all think? Please be brutally honest. Gracias con anticipation 🙏🏾
"How do you learn vocabulary in Spanish?" "How do you improve your listening skills if you don't know the words that are being said to you?" "How do you stay motivated to interact with the Spanish language?" "What do you do to maintain your Spanish?" "How do you personally keep learning Spanish fun?" "Don't you get bored "studying" Spanish?" "I can't remember certain concepts in Spanish grammar, how can I remember these things?" "How can I improve my writing skills in Spanish?"
