Working on another ON18 micro layout installment, but due to multiple factors, things are running a bit late. The two big ones are, we are into the summer months, so my laser time is severely limited. Secondly, I am running a ton of prints for a member of the model train club I am in. And third, I am starting to sort through things ahead of a move I am making. But more on that later...

That said, enjoy some photos of the progress being made. I am making sure the "ground goop" on the hill has plenty of time to fully dry before attacking it with scenery and all that good stuff!

I have become Clippy, destroyer of evil corporations.

Okay, I know changing my profile pic to Clippy driving a train isn't going to "change the world," but I hope it will raise some kind of awareness that software companies were not out to get you in the past. I remember spending hours typing up science fair journals, and Clippy just chilling there. If you have a few minutes, watch Louis Rossman's video. It helps explain this and hopefully brings awareness to a very real issue facing us today.

Yep, that's me in some rented graduation garb! For those who don't know I finally graduated with my BS in Industrial Design. To be perfectly honest, it's been an INSANE month for me, so suffice to say I am taking a little break from video production and will be back when I am up for it.

As for the gumball machine thing next to me, well, that was my final group project. More to come on that in the next few weeks, hopefully.

Just popping in to let everyone know, I am making the most of my "time off" if you will from the channel. My focus has been on long overdue instructions for the kits I offer in my Etsy shop. I did try doing a mini update video but I found myself getting super anxious part way through filming so I decided to turn the camera off and going to give myself more time. While I want to get back to doing content, I also don't want to rush things either. Until then, let me know what you guys have been up to and any video ideas you would love to see from me.

Hey guys, I have come to the somewhat hard decision that going into the new year I am going to be taking a break from content creation on the platform. How long? Not sure. What I do know is I need to stop living my life in front of a screen, and get back to living life in the present.

For those unaware, for the last 2-years making videos has gone from something I really enjoyed doing and it has turned into something I find to be quite bothersome and challenging. I have a bad tendency to just "push on since it took so long to get here" and that is catching up to me!

I do want to extend a massive THANK YOU to everyone over the years who has been super awesome both on/off camera. It means the world to me with your generosity, support, etc. Without you, I would have quit this long ago for better or for worse!

What does the future hold? I am hoping at some point to feel more comfortable making content again. Will that ever happen? Honestly, not sure. And maybe that's just another door closing in my life for the better?

For those curious about what made me finally decide it was time to stop were when I was compulsively checking my YouTube analytics to see "Is this video doing ok? How much did I earn? Do I have to remove more scam comments?" That was not a healthy cycle and something I spent way, way too much time on!

So to sum it up both sides of Calvin, the guy in the videos, and the guy behind the videos, needs a break.

Huge thanks to my friend John for taking photos of me volunteering at the railroad museum over the weekend. I promise I have fun, I just have to be hyper-vigilant when on duty is all!

That aside, I hope to have some new stuff rolling out soon-ish. When I flew down to see my friend performing in a college orchestra I was going to film some Corvair footage, but my dad had managed to hurt his back (again), and filming that was not on the table, sadly. Also, I am working on *redacted* with *redacted* so that's a 2025 project! That being said, I hope to have some stuff cranking out soon-ish. Having not made videos has given me lots of time to reflect and this is something I will touch on in the future. But that aside, time to get busy again with something!
