Hindi ako magsasawang sagutin ang mga ganitong comment, kasi kailangan MABAGO ang mindset ng mga tao tungkol sa child development;

Oo, totoong iba-iba lahat ng tao, pero kapag ang bata ay hindi matutong magsalita o di maipaliwanag ang gusto nila, sa inaasahang panahon, hindi lang sila “unique.” NAHIHIRAPAN sila.

Imagine mo nalang na may gusto kang sabihin pero walang nakakaintindi. Frustrating ‘di ba?

Kaya kami nagpo-post ng ganito, hindi para takutin kayo, kundi para gabayan. Para bigyan kayo ng tools na pwedeng gawin araw-araw.

The earlier we support them, the better their chances to succeed.

Kaya hahanapan ko talaga ng paraan para maintindihan niyo na:

- hindi dahil iba-iba ang bata ay hindi na tayo magiging alisto sa mga pangangailangan nila

- kapag hindi makapag-communicate ang bata:
SILA ANG NAG-SSTRUGGLE, at responsibilidad ng magulang ang UMAKSYON.

Sa mga ngayon palang dadalo, ito po ang ating guidelines and reminders:

✅️ hindi ito katumbas ng assessment o therapy, pero sasagutin ko ang mga tanong at papayuhan ko kayo kung anong maaaring gawin sa bahay

✅️ kapag may tanong, sabihin ang edad, at kung may diagnosis (halimbawa: bingi, Autistic, atbp.)

✅️ huwag paulit-ulit ang tanong (SPAM!) mas mahirap basahin kasi lumulundag ang comment stream! matuto tayong mag-wait ng ating turn 😌

May 18 is Speech-Language Pathologist day! I didn't even know there was such a thing, until one of our fams tagged me on a post (thank you!)

So I'll take this opportunity to thank all the SLPs in my life who have taught me, inspired me, and encouraged me (despite being older and a "difficult" older student) 😬

SLPs can be so many things to so many people, and I want to honor that today. Because of this profession, I've become a teacher, playmate, scientist, composer, counselor, public speaker, researcher, and even content creator.

I have to admit this has helped me develop empathy, patience, and intentionality in all aspects of my life, and this has enriched my purpose.

Thank you to all the families who have entrusted their loved ones to me. I hope those of you who have "graduated" are leading awesome lives,

and I hope to keep helping as many more as I can while I have the strength and energy.
