Got to attend my first Anesthesia School open house today. Such a fruitful experience being surrounded by like-minded people with the same goals as me. Even more rewarding to be around the Faculty who run the program and to get hands-on in the OR Sim intubating manikins and talking patho. God is good. Grind on.

Have officially obtained my Cardiac Surgery Certification (CSC) today! Maybe I’ll make a video about it as well as my CCRN exam experience soon!

IMPOSTER SYNDROME

Ever felt like you didn’t belong in your nursing program? Like perhaps the admissions committee made a mistake when selecting your name out of the pile of applicants?

Coming from a wild ass, poverty-stricken and drug-riddled household upbringing to being told “Congratulations, you’ve been accepted…” is one of the most surreal experiences in general.

Every day I was going to class to not only prove to everyone else that I deserved to be there but DEF to prove to myself; because imposter syndrome is real and I just honestly didn’t know if I was worthy of that seat at the table.

I got a good laugh out of this when it rolled through my TimeHop a few days ago. I was so excited to be trying on my scrubs for the first time. I didn’t realize how much I would come to despise white scrubs but that’s besides the point 🤣

Your boy was fresh out of A&P 1 with a fire in my stomach to succeed. The rest is history.

So fuck imposter syndrome.
YOU determine your success, not your upbringing, not your parents’ addictions, not your credit score, etc.

& can I tell you another secret?

YOU are worthy.
YOU can do this. ❤️
