Any interest in a quick demo of these crusty old reverbs? They’re linear time invariant, so IR’s should get pretty close. But they have bad old converters with limited frequency response, low bit rates and (by modern standards), a ton of noise.
I have just updated all packs to now include input level calibration metadata, which has just been added in the latest NAM release. This means you can enter your input headroom in dBu and the plugin will automatically adjust your levels to unity so you can hear the models gain levels as captured. How cool is that?
Seeing as noise floor is the discussion du jour, here’s a refresh on a video I posted 9 months ago. Sadly I don’t have a noisy Behringer to compare with, but you can see the relative benefits of optimising your input level and noise floor here.
The point where the benefits diminish will vary depending on your specific interface, pickups and noise/environment.
Just a heads up…. I have put my T75 IR’s on sale, you can get both packs together for £10 (usually this would cost £30 so it’s a huge saving).
Super underrated speakers, T75’s are on TONS of famous recordings. I sought after really great sounding versions - Eighty Four is a set of very early T75’s from the first year of production. All captured with high end preamps and conversion, various load box compensations, vintage microphones etc. No compromise, the most honest and natural tones.
