心 heart
靜 call
自然 naturally
涼 to cool down

Literally meaning:
When your heart (mind) is calm, it naturally feels cool.

When your mind is at peace, external heat, stress, or discomfort affects you less. It emphasizes inner calm rather than changing the outside world.

I used to talk about this idiom in my podcast, but then i forgot this mindset. Last time when i was complaining about hot weather and heatwave(熱浪). My student said this to me:) Nice reminder.

🇹🇼依依不捨 yī yī bù shě ㄧ ㄧ ㄅㄨˋ ㄕㄜˇ The feeling of not wanting to say goodbye. Have you ever felt this way 依依不捨：）？It’s a complicated feeling when you have to leave but your heart wants to stay.

依依 yī yī ㄧ ㄧ clinging, attached, reluctant
不 bù ㄅㄨˋ not, unable to
捨 shě ㄕㄜˇ to let go, to give up

Example
離開臺灣了，覺得很依依不捨。
Leaving Taiwan, I feel a deep sense of reluctance to go.

It’s so beautiful though, isn’t it? I’Ve decided to include it in the Chengyu workshop.

Btw, I drew this building because I saw it everyday when I woke up from my hotel room near Taipei station. So it’s quite meaningful. When I was on the plane, I felt the urge to finish my sketch to say good bye properly. This 依依不捨 feel is how I feel each time when I leave Taiwan. I never know when will be the next time. I wonder if there’s an equivalence direct translation in English…

剛有觀眾留言跟我說這個叫「紅薑花」（ ㄏㄨㄥˊㄐㄧㄤㄏㄨㄚ Hóng jiāng huā Someone just commented and told me this is called “red ginger”.

這個詞也很適合學中文喔
This is also a really useful word to learn in Chinese. 紅 red; 薑 ginger; 花 flower

原來紅薑花很適合長在熱帶和副熱帶的臺灣」No wonder it grows so well in tropical and subtropical Taiwan.
