After serving over 20 years in solitary confinement for non-violent financial crimes and prison escapes, Steven Jay Russell has finally been approved for parole. There's currently no information on the date of his release.
(The L initial in his prison record is an error, Texas wrote the wrong alias when they arrested him. They don't seem to have fixed this in over 20 years.)
