The Covenant with God to Walk Worthy

There is a point at which a man gets to where he knows that he cannot sustain himself, so he enters into a covenant with God to walk worthy. Within this covenant, if at any point your life begins to derail, God, by compelling signs, will force your life back into the order of the things that he has designed.

Now, the truth is, in every one of us, there is an ambition in our minds about how we want our lives to go, and many times, it is not fully aligned with the things that God has in his heart.

We cannot underestimate the moment Jesus prayed in Gethsemane saying "...nevertheless, not My will, but Your will..."

This means that somehow, the Lord Jesus had a mental picture of something that was outside of the original design and purpose of God. Now, if you saw that in Jesus, you cannot avoid that level of inner controversy in your own life.

When you enter into that level of covenant to walk worthy of the vocation or the calling to which you are called, just like the Lord Jesus, your life begins to navigate certain bends that you try to straighten out, but are just never able to even decipher in the first place.

It does not feel convenient at that time trying so hard to straighten out those bends, but ultimately, it will become a reason for thanksgiving. As the Lord reshapes your life in accordance with the natural process of your calling, it will feel quite inconveniencing, and maybe even painful for you to yield, but trust the process.

In the end, like the Apostle Paul said, it will yield peace and good fruits of righteousness.

It's exactly 38 days to the biggest Jos Festival of Praise & Worship taking over the city of Jos, what a perfect way to step into March.

This is more than a festival; it’s an encounter. A gathering of hearts, voices, and lives lifted in worship.

God provides the high-quality seed, but you’re the one in charge of the soil. That’s a massive responsibility because, honestly, the environment usually wins.

Even the best seed can’t survive a bad environment. There’s a spot in Isaiah 5 where a "choice vine" ends up producing wild, bitter grapes. The seed was perfect, but the conditions were wrong.

Look at the difference between Adam and Jesus:
Adam was in a perfect state, but he let his mental environment get compromised and he fell.
Jesus was also in a perfect state, but even under intense pressure, He never folded.

The lesson?
Having a good nature isn't enough; you have to protect it.

If you actually value the "divine nature" inside you, you have to be the gatekeeper of your own life.

You have to be "jealous" about guarding your space so that seed has room to grow. That means being picky about what you let in staying away from toxic thoughts, empty philosophies, and people who are stuck in bitterness.

Like Hebrews 12:15 says, that kind of energy is contagious and can ruin everything.

Do whatever you have to do to protect the seed.
Build an environment that actually helps you thrive.

Have a blessed week!
