sorry for the relative quiet here in the channel. things are going, slowly, steadily. you're probably wondering what the absense is, especially with me having a little plan to y'know: make 2025 at least more productive. "gee, Flame, you said there'd be streams more often! what's going on? you've not done anything to welcome 2025 in and there's less than 2 weeks left!"

well, to tell you the truth: my OS died around the beginning of January, around the 4th, i was experimenting and trying to fix my bios on my Motherboard to do stuff, and my tinkering came at the detriment of sluggishness because of my PC having to reconnect the drives. in my panic, i hit the Force Reboot and basically KO'd the Win10 OS, meaning my PC was stuck as a paperweight for at least 3 days, only able to open the BIOs. now unfortunately for me, i don't have the Win10 Key, my Grandad does, but i did mention to numerous people in other servers that if Windows ever craps out on me or forces me to update to Windows 11: I was gonna take a plunge into the deep end and pick up something different.

*that's right. Flamewheel has become... A LINUX USER!*

Specifically: I'm using a fork of Fedora 41 known as "Ultramarine" and i've gone with the KDE Plasma build out of the possible 4 builds that were there (one of which was a GNOME build, which in hindsight: may've been better to have gone with). this has it's issues, sure, but most of it i feel is growing pains. i've used this OS for nearly 2 weeks now, and although i'm slowly getting back into the swing of things with stuff with some form of normalcy, right now i have no games, no movies, nothing. i literally feel like a guy whose hit Rock Bottom: no money, no food, and no mastur-- oh okay, maybe not that part...

so whilst i try to re-establish myself back onto the games, fix controller issues (my fightstick isn't picking up 4 buttons when pressed, and i don't believe Brooks have Firmware for Linux, so I might have to find another system, or - and this is gonna be a pretty penny - go and buy a console to play fighting games on... ⁠throne-purchases if you are absolutely wanting to buy me anything, do not feel peer-pressured to do so, what you're doing is a donation, not a demand), and eventually look at maybe upgrading my PC further (this Nvidia 2070 Super is now becoming a bit of a hinderence and is an issue with Linux because Old Man Linus Torvalds has a really nasty bone to pick with Nvidia, he seems okay with Intel and i think he's pretty much in bed with AMD, so... Intel B580 is the goal, might even go B780 if they become available by the time i'm thinking of shit to do): so far i'm just Ezekiel's Wheel right now: A Stealth Tank. I will probably still be quiet for a little bit, might be either around Febuary or March when we start kicking up a notch and trying to make stuff possible.

in the meantime: i might poke my head out to say hello to folks whilst they're streaming or their videos instead (if you haven't yet, check out ‪@WheelOfStruggle‬ for their Struggle-R series, and look at Episode 2 of Season 2 where I was versus Quantum_P1 in a Low% Speedrun of Tenchu: Stealth Assassins), if by any chance i accidentally (or purposefully) end up cameoing in other people's streams, keep a good look out for that. other than that: that's all i got left. hope everyone has an awesome day, and will continue to be legends. take care for now, you awesome bastids.

Flame Wheel (Flamewh33l)

Hey folks, it's Flamewheel here. Hope you've all been having a very Merry Christmas and will endeavour to have a Happy New Year!

As some of you may or may not know: I've started a Ko-Fi channel ( ko-fi.com/flamewh33l ) in an effort to try and earn me some pennies, as I'm not a massive YouTube Star that they need: Monetisation is not enabled, yet of course some dozy plant-pots in some businesses can make claims for Copyright and/or strike my channel for it, so any economic boosts you can give there is very much greatly appreciated. I've no idea what I can do to have you completely support me, whether it's just a one-time passing of some loose change or if it's a subscription commitment, so please suggest some ideas for it, as it'll be greatly appreciated.

As I'm sure you've been seeing: the channel's been pretty much dead for the past couple months, there's been a number of reasons for this:

1) I've not been streaming on my Twitch channel ( www.twitch.tv/flamewh33l2 - for anyone to drop a follow if they wish, I am actually affiliated there now so I could start earning pennies there) often enough to leave VODs for people who care to watch,

2) I've not been getting any work/videos from other people who've painstakingly took their time to help make a video for me to upload for my Voice-Over projects (from those who did offer me work and I have given you my work: please give the video of that audio being used for the game's units/characters I portray, it's all I ask),

and 3) I've nothing to show for this year near enough that has proven to be "eventful" and I've subsequently "burnt out" from doing anything due to home situations, motivation and development of something I want in my future.

When I'm not doing my hobbycraft or doing leisurely activities such as going out to friends and playing some Tabletop Games, working as a Potwash for a pub for National UK Minimum Wage that's a Zero-Hour Contract, or trying to invest in my betterment of mentality and physicality: I'm at home doing sweet nothing, the internet is chronic at ~600kbps Down (yet nicely going to about ~2mbps Up) since I'm not on fibre, so streaming has not been a smooth option to try and do, and Downloads take days to finish and if they corrupt: I gotta start from square one... not what you wanna be doing for the kinda job I wish to do. It's meant I cannot provide for YT, Twitch, Kick or anywhere else willing to take me other than in my Discord ( discord.gg/tK3YduU - my server, Embers of Eden, you'll find me there if you wish to discuss anything, it's dead otherwise), and has meant that there is nothing I can do outside of that.

The good news is: Fibre Lines have already been set up, ready for me to utilise, all they need to do now is feed the cable through my Bedroom, down the Office wall and lead it to wall that splits the Office and the Living Room, so Internet will be getting better in the New Year - trust and believe, content may finally start rolling out a bit more smoothly. I also have myself a series I'm planning out for the New Year, going through one of my favourite J-RPG game series from it's inception in the 90s to where we are today, DLC and everything. But I'm also looking at other avenues to go down outside just Streaming and Voice-Overs. I do wanna leave this Zero-Hour Contract badly now as it's starting to affect me negatively, and I wanna be trying to earn some money semi-independently that might spiral into something, just gotta keep building that Portfolio on YT.

There is big plans for this space, there are ideas forming along for later, there will be plenty food for thought circulating within me, and 2024 looks to be a blessed year for me, my family and many of the friends I've made along the way. I don't know how long it'll take, when it arrives or how it'll turn out, but what I do know is: this better be a damn good year, or I'm goosed!
