Welcome to my channel! I love to play a huge variety of games. My primary genres are strategy games that require thought and planning (e.g. Factorio, Satisfactory, the Anno series), city builder/colony management games (e.g. Banished, Dawn of Man, The Universim), grand strategy games (e.g. Stellaris, the Europa Universalis series, the Crusader Kings series), stealth games like the Dishonored & Thief series, role-playing games (e.g. The Elder Scrolls series, the Fallout series), the Total War games, and a variety of MMOs.
I love posting Let's Play series of various games - not exclusively among the genres listed above, but there will be a bias towards games within those genres - particularly strategy games.
I hope you enjoy my videos!
A special shout out to General Pedro for the awesome drawing of God Emperor Wyv - the Wind Rider Cub in my logo and banner!

Since I do not intend to multi-stream to both Twitch and YT, for those who might be interested, I have created youtube.com/@CaledornVODArchive for anyone who might want to be able to look at the VODs from my streams.
I don't want to put them up here on the channel because they might autoplay for viewers, and while I am fairly low-key in streams too, there's always a higher risk of louder noises (from me laughing, alerts, sound effects, etc) than in my regular content. So I feel this is the best solution.
I'm not sure I'll make any LP series of Satisfactory for the YT channel - if I do it would involve "showing off" progress "since the last episode", rather than actual building stuff. I'll leave a poll here to see if there is interest for something like that in addition to the streams - but I should note that given the stream series, it will not be a "now" thing - but rather a "future" thing, as I don't think my brain is ready to deal with two different saves/series at once.
Memoriapolis has had a couple of interesting updates, so I will make some content on that (this time I'll complete a playthrough - I had a "I don't really want to go to the 'End of Early Access' screen in my last series, which is why I didn't complete that) soon ™️

I have to wait for the FPS update for more The Crust, since I'm getting FPS at around 5-8 now at 1x game speed, which is basically making the game unplayable. If I try to increase the speed to 2x or 4x I actually get a good old slideshow.
The issues, according to the dev, are mainly belts and drones. So as soon as the patch drops, I hope I can get some FPS improvement (at least 20+, which is playable, if not ideal).

On that note though, I will be recording MEMORIAPOLIS! It's scheduled for a release on August 29th - and I have been accepted for a Press key, which I will receive on August 28th - so I will release content for the game as soon as possible after that! 😁

No video prepped for Friday August 16th as I need to take the day off after 40 hours of work in 4 days, and I didn't manage to pre-record one. I'll be back with a video on Saturday the 17th and continue from there! 😁If you're new to the channel, maybe use the opportunity to take a look at some of my other content to see if there's something else I've played that might catch your interest 😉

Hey everyone 😊
I'm going to be working some long hours the first 4 days of the upcoming week, so I'm pre-recording several episodes of The Crust so I can have a daily episode of the series coming out while I will not have time to record on a daily basis - just so you all know.
I do have a question for you all though. The "latest fad" on YouTube that I've seen several channels do is make "The Movie"/"Supercut" style long episodes where they combine many episodes into long episodes of 6 to 12 hours each, that people put on low volume to help them sleep. I don't want to waste time or energy on doing that for no reason, so instead of just "jumping on the bandwagon" I'm putting out the question to you with a poll here and will make a decision based on the number of responses to the poll. Since I organise my videos in playlists anyways, it shouldn't be a big issue for people to just put the playlists on autoplay if they want to listen to me babbling while they sleep - but maybe those kinds of videos are easier for some. If this poll shows that there is a clear interest for that, I will put those videos in a specific "Long Videos" playlist that I will mix in several games (Starting with The Crust) in, just for my own background YT Studio organisation needs.

Just a minor hickup in the system (a personal encounter with a certain virus) that is delaying progress on The Crust. I figure you guys will appreciate not having to listen to me coughing in my videos, so I shall spare you that, and expect to be back soon (I'm not feeling particularly poorly - this cough is the main thing that keeps me from recording, and of course using my voice means more coughing, so probably best for me too to avoid it right now). 😊

I am sorry to say that there will not be an Anno episode today due to a rather intense headache that has kept me from recording. Since I might be rather tired tomorrow due to after-effects from the headache, I will just have 2 episodes this week, and release the next episode on Saturday. 😊

For those of you who are following the Anno 1800 series and who are wondering about my modlist, I finally managed to compile it. It's pinned in the comments on each of the videos, but also it's here: Modlist: docs.google.com/document/d/13tnLOyz8nfRQaOoyL7CG0u…
I'll update it if I add more mods to the game. 😊

So I bought Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader (I very specifically did not ask for a key for it, for reasons which will be apparent in this post).
Usually I would make a Let's Play series on this game - but I'm very torn on what to actually do with the game. I feel extremely reluctant to commit to a LP series, because of the sheer immensity of the game. I've tried to complete Pathfinder: WOTR three times now on the channel, failing every time because the time commitment on games of this scale is just too much for me (and only the most loyal viewers among you care much for that long-form style LP series too). Rogue Trader has the same "issue" WOTR had in regards to a *lot* of dialogue, where I feel that it's just my style to read the dialogue since my style is relaxing videos.
Anyhow - I do not feel obliged to make any content on Rogue Trader. But I know that at least a good portion of you would appreciate it, so I wanted to make some statements about it here since CRPGs *and* Warhammer kind of is two of my major things.
I'm not skilled enough to make guides for the game sadly. It's based on the old TTRPG system for Warhammer 40K which I have never even seen a book for. While it's far less complex than Pathfinder 1E (Kingmaker and WOTR are based on those), it's still complicated enough. And also I am a bit reluctant about making guides, since when I made guides for WOTR I received an abundance of negative comments (We're talking in the hundreds...), which I'd rather not have to deal with.
If anyone has some suggestions to how I could make *some* content on the game without having to commit to a full LP series of 100+ episodes, feel free to use the comments to suggest - or pop into Discord for a chat about it. 😊

Hi everyone, and thank you for the warm welcome back! 😊 I'm really enjoying playing Anno 1800 and recording the process for you guys, and I hope you will enjoy the series as much as I am enjoying playing the game and recording.
I have a question though. Since I plan on releasing 2 - maybe occasionally 3 - episodes per week of the series, I thought aiming for around 1 hour per episode is a good goal. I want the episodes to "feel meaningful", especially when there's not a daily release schedule for them, which is what I have in mind for this. And the thought is that for those who do not have time to sit and watch one full episode in one viewing, since YouTube is nice enough to remember where you were in a video if you leave it, you can watch in in multiple sittings.
But just to make sure I thought I'd make a poll for this, and since I've already recorded 4 episodes it didn't make much sense to me to ask in an episode that won't be released until next week by which I potentially will have recorded several more episodes. Do you feel 1 hour (give or take 10 minutes) is an okay time for this different style release schedule than what I have done in the past?
If you respond no, please consider leaving a comment with (a) suggestion(s) for what you think would be a better way of doing it. I'm definitely open to suggestions, as long as the suggestions do not entail a daily episode, which I do not wish to commit to at this point. 😊
