What a lovely comeback! I’m not sure how it was received yet (and honestly I don’t think I even want to know) but I have loved it. It’s effectively a 5th gen song, and its minimalistic structure follows the one we’re used to see in k-pop now. But somehow, even if I’m not fond of tracks that don’t feature a pre-chorus (or are too short in general), I did not miss it this time. Cherish (My Love) feels complete as it is, and it even has a bridge! ♡
How come kpop sounds so uninspired lately?
I usually look forward to summer songs but this year has been an atrocious let down.
Apart from very few exceptions, everything else is literal rubbish and I swear I am so, so easy to please when it comes to summer releases, they just need to be catchy and fun. But the bar dropped so low this time around, I found it disheartening.
Everything looks like a copy-paste, lyrics make less and less sense, tracks keep getting short and the production is just messy and shitty.
Please, kpop companies should remember that over-edited music videos (with the same types of effects) and overly accessorised outfits don’t compensate for good music, good lyrics and good ideas!!!
Respect for the few rare artists who are still trying to bring something new, interesting or at least worth listening to the table.
Just watched the RUNext final. This was not the line up I was expecting and DEFINITELY not the line up I was hoping for. We'll see what happens now, I am conflicted because my favorite Yeongseo and Yunah are in and I really wanted to support this group but I don't think I can bring myself to do it given how strongly I disagree with the final choices for the members. Still, let's try to be respectful of the all the girls and even if I am extremely disappointed I'll wait for their actual debut before jumping to harsh conclusions.

As always, I am wonderstruck by Yoongi's lyricism and ability to analize reality and speak words of truth about it.
If a comparison must be made between the titles, I'd say that musically I still prefer Daechwita but the message of Haegeum is so important and resonated so much with me, I feel it's one of those lyrics I could print and frame in my room just as a daily reminder.
I have to take my time to listen to the whole album yet but Agust D truly never disappoints.
