Here are some important channel updates 🚨🚨

R.I.P. to the annual Halloween marathon. Instead, we will be having a Halloween themed week when we reach the end of October! We know this may be sad for a portion of our audience but we feel like this is the best decision for us moving forward. We love Halloween but we are thinking that four or five songs will be enough to celebrate the holiday.

We also wanted to say that Ty will not be in town to record with us until Christmas time. We do have two videos that we recorded with him, and they will be released in each of the next two months. When he is in Louisville, we will be recording as many videos as possible so we can spread them out like we did this year. Due to the internet problems we experienced on our vacation, we will be trying to live stream or we can do a Q&A around the holiday season.

A big thank you to you all for getting us to 50K! We are thrilled to reach the next milestone on our channel, whenever that may be. If you have any questions or you want to submit any song requests feel free to include them on this post.

As referenced in our latest upload, Al Stewart - On The Border. One of our dearest friends, Heather Parker Turner, decided to get this tatted! This logo represents the name of our channel & where we grew up – Louisville, Kentucky. The 502. Heather stumbled upon our video of Year of the Cat on June 5th, 2021. This was just the start of what turned into a beautiful journey for both Heather & us!

That video sparked an uptick of subscribers & views for us, but it also created a friendship! We’ve had the privilege to meet Heather & share some life experiences throughout the years – something that never would have existed, if not for Year of the Cat. This video holds a special place in not only our hearts for the success its’ had, but also for the serendipity that it brought.

This logo is a part of us & it became a part of Heather. We love you❤️

This should be the last update for a while! We had yet another video blocked for the marathon, making a total of five videos that will have to be released next month or later. The next video you should see will be the finale of the marathon on Monday or Tuesday. Hopefully, that one will go through without any issue. We don't like it when there is a large gap between videos, but we had an anomaly of blocks the past few weeks. Going into May, we will be stocked with a good number of videos ready to go. Enjoy yall's weekend!

A quick update:

We have now had a total of FIVE* videos blocked during this marathon - all of which are going through the 30 day copyright review. We probably won't be recording again until Sunday, so we will be premiering "Pilot - Magic" on Saturday. We apologize for the inconvenience, but there is really nothing we can do about it. At least next month we will be ahead of schedule when these songs finally get released. Thank you for your patience 👍

The people have spoken! Our next marathon will be ONE HIT WONDERS. This marathon will begin in March and may be extended into the month of April. We encourage our audience to like and comment on this post so we can get as many requests and responses as possible. You all know that we like to stay diverse, so we ask that you suggest songs that span over different genres. We won't be able to get to everything, but we do intend on reacting to the most upvoted and popular requests. I'm sure the two of us have will have a few songs ready to share as well!

There is much debate on what is considered a one hit wonder so we thought we could do some research to try and simplify it...

"This formal definition can include acts with greater success outside their lone pop hit and who are not typically considered one-hit wonders, while at the same time excluding acts who have multiple hits which have been overshadowed by one signature song."

"So can you still be a one-hit wonder if you have more than one hit? As it turns out, there are some artists who may have a couple of hits, but they are still considered a one-hit wonder because their biggest hit overshadows the rest of their career."

NEW POLL: We are just over a month away from our annual "March Marathon." We will take the results from this poll and crown a winner in mid-February. We will then create a new community post, and then we can receive your requests and suggestions.
