Find out how the NBA 2K series came to be in my latest video.
Speaking with developers who worked on it, I dive deep into the history of the franchise and unravel the story of the mysterious NBA game Visual Concepts made just before NBA 2K in 1997:
Just wanted to show some gratitude and appreciation for how the channel has grown over the past year. My sincere thanks to all of you who've subscribed to Game Brain and taken the time to check out my videos.
I think when success on this platform is wholly driven by numbers (subs, views, likes, comments), it's easy to never feel satisfied and content. But I'm definitely just grateful for where the channel is at and where it's going.
I hope all of you are doing well through these average times...
I have a new upload coming in the next week, though, which I'm excited to share with you all. So stay tuned!
A few years ago I sat down with one of the founding developers of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise.
We spoke at length about the origins of the series, the arrival of the Skate games and the disasters that were THPS 5 and the peripheral-based RIDE and SHRED.
What other retro game developers do you want to hear from?

I've never really broadcasted that I'm actually a reporter / video producer in my day job.
I rarely get the chance to make gaming-related content, and this one is definitely something I'm proud of.

Here's a mini documentary I produced / shot / edited myself for Australia's national broadcaster, the ABC.

For the first time, a bunch of the lead designers from the game have come together to chat about how it all came together behind the scenes:
