My debut album, ‘Sunflowers and Leather’ will be yours September 5.
I spent the last year living on the road in an Airstream with just my instruments and miss Mars. We traveled across the country several times over and got to experience a kind of livin’ that I think everyone should see, but few get to have. I met magical, beautiful, heartbreaking, grief-ridden, perspective-changing moments in every new place. This album is nothing more than a byproduct of that—I wrote and produced the whole thing in the Airstream during my time out there. As an artist, you only get one of these thangs and I know for a fact that I did it right. I cannot wait for y’all to have these songs. It’s the best that I got. Thank you so much for being here—I will forever be in service of y’all, and I’ll keep going as long as you’ll have me.

I wrote The Reaper about that feeling when life sort of smacks you across the face. Each little story in the song is a moment where I felt severely humbled by the universe and had to take a step back and remember that not everything has to happen right this second, all at once.
