Sheahan Daniel says HSBC retail customers will be kept fully informed well ahead of the transition to Nations Trust Bank PLC. From March, communications will clearly explain how accounts will move, what happens to cards, and how replacement and activation will work before cutover.
He adds that the transition is designed to be seamless, with closely aligned customer propositions and no disruption to day-to-day banking. Customers will also gain access to NTB’s wider product range, digital platforms, extended branch network, and service capabilities, ensuring continuity alongside added value once the migration is complete.
Hemantha D Gunetilleke says the acquisition of HSBC’s retail banking operations is the largest deal in Nations Trust Bank PLC’s history and a natural extension of the bank’s strengths across consumer banking, private banking, and cards. He notes that the portfolio brings meaningful scale, strengthens liquidity and financial ratios, and deepens NTB’s presence with key customer groups built over 25 years in private banking.
He also highlights the opportunity to do more for customers, including expanding wealth management offerings, and to reinforce leadership in credit cards with a proposition that spans all major schemes, including American Express. Looking ahead, he expects the benefits of a larger funding base to extend beyond consumer banking and support growth across the entire bank within the next 12 to 24 months.
Ramesh Schaffter confirms that JXG (Janashakthi Group) has a specific growth strategy in mind, centering around three pillars.
The first is growing JXG’s existing business, the second is expanding through acquisitions and mergers, and the third is entering new markets outside Sri Lanka.
C.T.A. Schaffter of JXG’s (Janashakthi Group) expresses a lifelong goal of easing financial burdens and assisting families in need. His leadership reflects this ethos to this day.
Stephen Flatman of AICPA & CIMA acknowledges that there are no shortcuts in professional learning, emphasising that building expertise requires effort and dedication.
Students must develop transferable skills that enable them to stand out and make meaningful contributions in their careers.
Harriet Rimington of AICPA & CIMA holds communication skills in high regard. As capable as a student may be, they must also be able to demonstrate their skills to other parties by various means.
Mark Foley of AICPA & CIMA believes case studies play a critical role in readying students for professional roles. Their approach to job responsibilities is built over long periods, laying a foundation that will extend well into their careers.
