I gotta admit, this animation of Thomas for the upcoming 2026 show looks pretty good. I feel like that Mattel is finally going to put Thomas back on the right track again. (No pun intended)
But I shouldn’t try to speak too soon, I wanted to remain as cautiously optimistic as best as I can. And besides, we won’t know what the rest of the 2026 Thomas show is going to look like?
I think those were the images of the new Thomas toys for the upcoming 2026 series? They seem to look something and they seem to look like they’re a step up from All Engines Go. But I wanna try to not get my hopes up as I wanted to remain cautiously optimistic for the brand new series until it comes out. I really hope the series is made by actual people and not made by AI junk.
Hello everyone. So to anybody wondering when the next TMCember series is coming out, I have an announcement to make.
I wasn’t able to make another one this year.
I’m sorry to disappoint to you all when I said that. But they’re a couple reasons behind it on why I couldn’t do one this year.
#1. Doing it every year by referring to it as my “annual” is exhausting and it takes a huge toll on my mental health.
I want to take my time and focus on other projects that I’m genuinely motivated to do instead, or to collaborate with someone by working on projects with them so I can be creatively fulfilled. I couldn’t be the only person alone who can review TM videos or talk about them in retrospective/essay forms.
I just wish somebody else can do them besides me. Maybe other people who are fans of TM like Isaiah the Classic Historian, metalheadrailfan or HudsonTrainGuy12 can work on their own retrospective reviews about them like I have done?
It doesn’t necessarily have it be a video to contain footage from a “said TM video”. But at least an adequate retrospective video on it where someone can share their opinions or critiques about them in a dignified and thoughtful manner.
Also, I have to work on my mental health. No, I’m not depressed. However, I had a lot of trouble with my sleep and lifestyle when it comes to thinking and formulating words into script drafts.
So I decided that my New Years’ Resolution is to try and work on being in better shape without pushing myself too hard (for real) so I won’t suffer from writer’s block and I’ll be able to think more clearly and sharply.
#2. Because of my mental health and other things that have been going on in life, I haven’t been able to fully develop the scripts on time.
Just a little bit of disclosure, I decided to work on the John Deere series so I can divert from the topic of toy trains for a little while. But then I changed my mind and decided to cover two video series of construction vehicles instead called “I Love CAT Machines and I Love Big Machines” because John Deere is a bigger series and I found it overwhelming for me to cover many of their videos in my retrospective.
It’s a lot of pressure. But I’d already written plenty of drafts of the scripts for most of the videos from both series. But unfortunately, I couldn’t be able to keep up with either one of the scripts because I get easily distracted a lot on other things that I want to do or focus on instead.
#3. I haven’t really grew up with TM’s John Deere nor CAT/Big Machine videos as much as their train videos as a kid, because I wasn’t interested in them back then.
So I feel that it would be fair if I simply take my time to watch them a little more over and over again so I can easily remember what’s been going on.
That way, I would be able to write down the script drafts when judging the videos based on my opinions and thoughts. It wasn’t easy, but at least maybe it’d be worth a try.
Now that I’d already explained why I couldn’t make another TMcember this year, some of you might be asking, “Are you ending TMCember?”
No, certainly not! This is not the end for TMCember!
Instead, I wanted to take a break from it by saving the projects that I’d worked on. So I can give the series a hiatus for a while to work on my mental health, get a job, save up my money properly and focus on other projects that I like to do. Such as writing some fan made stories like the Thomas the Tank Engine ones, along with other things.
Although I won’t be doing another TMCember series this year due to my mental health and I’ll be taking a break from it, I however decided to do something else.
Firstly, I’ll be working on another 80th anniversary video this year like I’d done with my Trainz remake of Edward’s Day Out. This time, it’ll be a Thomas music video based on the Beatles song “It’s All Too Much”. Which features many of the footage from the classic series with the song playing over them. The music video will end 2025 out with a bang.
And secondly, my Google Drive is chock full of videos and photos that I’d took like trains, boats or places that I’ve been to for the past 2 years. Since I’d been stockpilling plenty of them, I’m going to be uploading all of them onto YouTube by putting the clips together into individual videos. So I’ll be able to free up plenty of storage and I’ll be able to stop paying my Google One monthly subscription to save my money. The videos that I’ll be uploading will start next year in January, so make sure you check out my videos and photos I’d took from the past 2 years once they’re uploaded.
Anyway, that’s all I have to say for this post.
I hope you all understand and respect my decision for giving TMCember a break for the sake of my health, well-being and other things that I wanted to focus like my projects or downloading more trainz content.
If you’d read this through, then I would like to say thank you for your time and patience.
So until then, this is ReadingNorthernMan2102 saying Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Now if you excuse me, I’ll be focusing on getting ready for the festivities.
Farewell to John Baddeley, who is best known as the voice of Top Hat, Zip, Puffa, The Quarry Master and one of the Shrimpers and Pirate Tugs in TUGS. May he rest in peace.
