Danny Cocke was the first guest on my podcast. I wrote this letter for him, but he passed before I could send it. I'm sharing it now in his honor and to share what he meant to me.
What a crazy way to start the year. In 2026, I have photography gigs and some of the most amazing podcast interviews scheduled all over the world, and already 10+ interviews in queue to edit. But this is all taking a back seat as I prepare to arrange and perform some guitar music at my sister's wedding in June - my first performance in more than 7 years. And starting this month, I start my own free Capoeira community at Pierce College. It'll be the year that I share all that I'm passionate about. The year that I embrace what it looks like to inspire others through kindness.
It feels as though it was Danny who gently nudged me onto this path, who lit the way with humor. I hope everyone in the world can be just as inspired by him and his story.
