I'm an amateur pianist (and professional comic book artist), and I've been transcribing stuff for 20 years now. Most of it is on Youtube and on my blog for free :)
If you'd like to request a specific transcription, please feel free to email me at sorel.vincent@gmail.com :)

Happy New Year to everyone!
It's always a good idea to start the year with Thelonious Monk. It took me several years, but I'm happy to announce that I have finished the complete transcription of the album that Monk recorded in solo piano in Paris in 1954!
You can listen to the playlist here: www.youtube.com/playlist?list...
And if you want to buy the PDFs, you can go to my shop (payhip.com/VincentSPianoJazzTranscriptions) and get 15% off all Monk's transcriptions with the code Monk15!

It is with deep sadness that I learned yesterday Thursday of the death of Martial Solal. My thoughts go first to his family and loved ones.
He was obviously an immense musician, a central figure of French jazz, a kind, funny and caring man. His music has been with me for almost twenty years, I even dedicated a graphic novel to him (cargocollective.com/vincent-sorel/Martial-Solal). I'm posting the last two pages here, inspired by the words of his last concert.
I am lucky to have been able to meet him sometimes, and to have regularly exchanged with him. Martial and I had talked about publishing a collection of my transcriptions of his music. I don't know if it will happen today. But I invite you to dive into the wonders of the playlist I dedicated to him : youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0...
And since I want to share his music as much as possible, you can use the code RIPMartial to benefit from a 50% discount on the scores on sale in my shop : payhip.com/VincentSPianoJazzTranscriptions/collect…
I have some transcriptions of his music on the go, but it will take me a few more days to post them.

Dear audience,
I've been doing transcriptions for years now, and all this time I've been sharing them for free on my blog. I'm an amateur musician, none of this work has ever earned me anything. But as I sometimes have financial difficulties (like everyone else, I guess), I thought it might be time to find a way to make (a little) money with all the time I invest in this transcription work.
So without much originality, I created a page on Patreon!
> patreon.com/VincentS_Piano_Jazz_Transcriptions-
If you ever have the means, your help will be greatly appreciated, and will keep me going further!
And if you can't, don't worry, I will continue to post videos on YouTube as before! And you can still support be my suscribing and by sharing my videos to your fellow musicians.

I've recieved some comments about the chord names in my transcription of Thelonious Monk's Everything Happens to Me https://youtu.be/fiDocVQAYRc?si=z0lnf...
I tend to prefer simpler version of the chord names (Cm-F7-Bb), because it's it's easier to read. And to me, since I'm mainly transcribing jazz, I believe that the 7th (and other extentions) are implied: when I write Cm, I'm always thinking Cm7. Plus, you litteraly have the score in front of you, and you can see the 7th (and other extentions).
But maybe I'm wrong, and it's confusing?
Which of these do you prefer?
