Since the humble beginnings of Emerald City Guitars over 25 years ago we have worked hard to maintain the high standard of trust and integrity that has enabled us to continue to be a front-runner in the worldwide vintage guitar market.
Our goal is to succeed at a business level while creating an atmosphere that dignifies our customers and our team of professionals. The ownership and staff remain aware of the ever-changing landscape of music, technology and the economy. With this in mind ECG strives to be open-minded and willing to change and make adjustments to uphold our high service standard to our many customers both local and worldwide.
We pride ourselves both in our ability to create a warm and friendly atmosphere in our shop and in our passion to bring into our inventory a steady flow of top quality vintage and used instruments.
Our instruments are authenticated appraised, and guaranteed to be represented in a manner that upholds our standard of integrity.

Hey everyone, Ken Lapworth here - just wanted to let you all know that we’ve launched a secondary channel dedicated to new demos every weekday! We hope you head over there to check things out, and subscribe as well.
youtube.com/@EmeraldCityGuitarsDemos
We have opened this second channel to accomplish a number of things:
- First and foremost to share more guitars with you all, more often, and more consistently, without overloading the main channel. This format is much less involved on the production side of things which should help us keep up with all of the great instruments coming into the shop! Additionally the production style allows me to shoot an Instagram version of demos at the same time.
- Secondly, this will allow us to attach more demos directly to website listings, so you can get an idea of how an instrument or amp sounds without having to leave the page!
- The third reason for this is to give us more time to work with Tyler for guitar tech and history type of videos, as well as continuing the On The Road series without leaving you all hanging while I shoot and edit those.
- I also do some of the photography at the shop for Instagram/newsletters, and would like to do that a little more often, this gives time for that as well.
- Finally, this will also allow me to finally spend the long overdue time and effort to go through projects that have had to be put on the back burner, such as a very specific story and trip to a little town in Michigan that I know a lot of you are waiting for!
Don’t worry, we will still have in-depth demos of the really stand-out instruments that come to Emerald City Guitars here on this main channel, but with ~350 instruments and amps here at any given time, we have to start moving a little faster to even make a dent.
So, hopefully you take the time to head over and check out the new channel to subscribe, and we’ll have more new videos for you soon!

Hey everyone,
This is Ken, the man behind the camera for the Emerald City Guitars YouTube channel! As you may have noticed, there has been a serious lack of videos this week and I'm here to tell you why:
Long story short, I was having too much fun skateboarding with my niece and nephews this past Sunday, took a really hard fall, and managed to break my right wrist (the good one!). A good safety lesson for them, but not so pleasant for me! So, apologies to you all for me not wearing proper safety gear, but we'll be back at it this next week with some great amps and instruments for you all.
Thanks everyone for keeping up with our channel, we really appreciate it. Have a great rest of the week, a lovely weekend, and we'll see you soon!
- Ken
