The Central Government is likely to announce a Dearness Allowance (DA) hike for January–June 2026 before Holi, sparking fresh discussions among employees and pensioners. Currently, central government employees and pensioners are receiving 58% DA after a 3% hike was announced on October 1, 2025, for the July–December cycle. The upcoming revision is expected to bring a 2% increase, raising DA from 58% to 60%, effective January 1, 2026.
