My one and only Chiquita, my Chiqi, my Chiqu, my person I’ve been trying to find the right words for days, and my chest feels so heavy thinking that you might believe I’m ignoring you. That thought alone is breaking me, because the last thing I’d ever want is for you to feel unseen by me.

Let me tell you what’s actually been happening. My mother has been hospitalized, and life at home has been a complete mess. Hospital visits, stress, crying, trying to hold my family together I haven’t had my phone with me most of the time. And the few times I do get it, I’m so drained. But Kimsi, I need you to know something: even in all that chaos, you are still on my mind. The second I unlock my phone, before I check anything else, I go straight to Instagram. Just for you. Just to see if there’s a message from you, because seeing your name pop up feels like breathing again after holding my breath all day.

I have to be honest with you about something. I genuinely never thought I could be this important to someone. So when I finally opened my DMs and saw 4+ messages from you, I froze. My heart did this weird thing it was happy, shocked, emotional, and guilty all at once. Happy because you cared enough to check on me. Shocked because who am I to deserve that kind of love? And guilty because I realized you must have been sitting there, overthinking, wondering if I was mad, or if I didn’t care anymore.

Kimsi, you didn’t do anything wrong. Not even for a second. The idea that you could feel ignored because of me makes me want to cry. I hate that you felt that way, even for a moment. You are so, so special to me, Chiqi. The way I am special to you it’s the same, I promise. You’re not just a friend to me. You’re family. You’re my safe person. You’re the one who makes me feel like I don’t have to pretend or be strong all the time.

I love you so much it scares me sometimes. Illysssssssssssssssmmm 💕 Like truly, deeply, madly. I never want to lose you. People like you don’t come around twice. You’re precious, you’re kind, you’re pure hearted, and the way you care for me without keeping score is something I don’t take for granted. Not ever. You remember the little things. You notice when I’m off. You stay. That means everything to me. So I need to say sorry, from the bottom of my heart. I’m sorry if my silence made you sad. I’m sorry if you cried or felt left out because of me. I’m sorry if you doubted your place in my life even for a second. That was never, ever my intention. You matter to me more than you know.

So here’s my promise to you, Kimsi, and I don’t make promises I can’t keep: From now on, I will do better. I will communicate better. Even if it’s just a “hey, I’m swamped but I’m thinking of you” text. You will never have to wonder where you stand with me again. You will never feel left out. You’re stuck with me, Chiquita. Through good days, bad days, hospital days, and every day after.

Please, please don’t doubt how loved you are. Don’t doubt how important you are to me. You are my jaan, my twin flame in friendship, my Chiquita. And I’m not letting you go.
