Hi there, welcome to my channel. My name is Jessica (Jess) Chiang and I have been working as a software engineer for over many years (a.k.a an "old" software engineer).

I started this tutorial at first to teach my kids and their friends how to code. My intended audience is those who want to learn about technology, science, and engineering, but who may not yet work in the tech industry. For more learning material, you can also check out shallwelearn.com

I want to dedicate this channel to all teachers and educators who love and care about their students. If even just one teacher finds my videos useful and helpful, then it is all worth it.

Week 9 - Trying to add better music I enjoy listening to while coding in the zone to this fun video I've made with chatGPT, Python, and Visual Studio Code. I am a Pokemon Go fan and really had fun making this simple game.

Week 8 - This week I got a bit of "creator" block and struggled with which content to create to make a more significant impact.
Should I pivot to make the Asian mom video with wigs? My son loudly said "no". Or should I stick with what I know (being a happy geek)?
I decided to stick with what I know and focus on improving my skills.
I want to make videos for those who like my style (slower and with some Chinese accents lol) and also want to learn coding from zero to pro.

This week I've made this video. It was almost 1 hr and I cut it way down to 13 min to remove fluffs. I will keep making the python series if I am getting at least some views for each video.

Week 6 - Another week of sticking to video creation(whew). I added these videos
1. Career advice on What Language to Learn
2. Learn Scratch Conditional with Projects
3. Short of Is AI Taking Over?

I am grateful for each view it gets and am excited that I am learning more each day about content creation tools.
Here is a list of tools I am learning to create videos
1. Camtasia, Audiate,
2. Adobe Photoshop, Animate,
3. Unity

Week 5 2023 - Wow, I have been sticking with my New Year resolution for a month and creating new content each weekend for almost a month. Still playing with the length, content, and style that would be the most helpful to others. My aim is to continue to share my love of creating and technology through my content. Through it, I hope to become a better communicator and presenter with the help of the YouTube community :)

Week 1 2023 - My 2023 New Year Resolution is to start creating more videos to help anyone (students, parents, teachers, and future engineers) learn about coding and technology. Along the way, if I gain more subscribers, great, if not, I am creating content that I can share readily with others when needed.

So thankful that I still have 1.34K subscribers after a super long hiatus. I am going to start on a new series of Scratch 2.0 tutorials and AWS intro, based on a poll I did (my goodness) 2 years ago (!!!).

I am also attending the AWS re:invent 2022 next week in Vegas and will post more. Can't wait!

Hi all, it's been a long time since I last posted a video. I might very soon start posting again. Want to take a quick poll of what people would be interested in:
