The first dispatch from my new space at the farm...

I wanted to share why this video is important to me. So many of you are brilliant creatives. You have beautiful, fully formed ideas, are deeply creative, and feel connected to the earth and the sky. BUT you are a writer in secret, or a covert creator, or just afraid to put yourself out there because what will people think, am I good enough, do I have what it takes, there are already so many other voices, blah blah blah. Your own progress is hindered because your internal critic is too loud, and it's difficult to get going. I know because I've been there, and in some ways am still there lol lol.

Self promotion, which can bring up feelings of shame, is the most important factor in getting your work seen, and ultimately -- building in freedom for yourself. You can make great art, but you ALSO HAVE TO SHARE IT. You can be the world's best singer, but you have to PROMOTE YOUR SONGS. Usually the artist and the promoter are at opposite ends of the spectrum. If you are very good at art or business, most times people don't know about it -- because you are humble and who wants to toot their own horn.

NO, BUT SEE. You must toot your own horn. You have to! It is the key to feeling like a real artist, is to make the thing, and get it seen, and then (yes), sell the thing. Don't let the fantasy of "oh well Van Gogh wasn't really popularized or discovered until after his death" take root; make your art and sell your art while you are still alive, okay? I promise it's much cooler that way.

Hopefully this video can be the push that you need. To write the blog post. To start the business. To post on IG or TikTok or YouTube. To send out the newsletter. To join the pop-up event. TO PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE because we all believe in you, you're going to make it, and even if it's impossible and you fail, THEN FINE, at least you tried which is more than we can say for 99% of people! You are the freaking bestttttt!!!!!!

New video coming this week, probably a little advice video on business strategy. In personal news, I took a week off to move into the farm, rented a 300 lb sod remover from the Home Depot, painted the walls of the barn BY MYSELF, and bought a used wheelbarrow for $15. I've been hot, exhausted, sweaty, and HAPPY 😊😊😊.

Got the keys to our little farm! A little slice of heaven. Hubby got the Internet working, met a frog in the garage (who took a rather large poo), and there are some deer friends. YAY!!! ❤️
