It is worth taking courage and realizing that magic is an internal process of profound changes in the perception of the world. According to Toltec knowledge, each person has a magical nature that is hidden from the person himself, because the one is occupied with an image of himself in the representation of the world, in which the importance of this image is the center.

Magic teaches that everyone must reveal in themselves that part of nature that will allow them to develop a sense of unity and kinship with the entire universe, to form a sense of connection with life itself, the forces of which move the juice in the stem of plants, give an impulse to cell division in the epidermis and move the planets in orbit around the stars. This nature has long been called "magical nature" by the sages.

How successful has man been in cultivating a sense of his own importance and the false greatness of his "low self", that he believes that magic is a way to influence life itself or manipulate the forces of Nature and even the destinies of others to suit his own wishes and desires! No tarot card spread, no pelvic breathing, and no standing on nails will reveal his true nature to man until he subdues his base desires, frees himself from the predatory desire to appropriate and manipulate, and bows his head before Nature, recognizing Its greatness and Its Universal origin.

Magicians who call themselves "Sufis" say this: "Take a step away from yourself and you will find yourself next to God." True Magic is a permanent rite of sacrifice, where the animal nature of man is sacrificed every day on the altar of the Spirit in the Temple, which is his noble Soul purified from base aspirations.

Free yourself from the desire to use others, to appropriate that is not yours, from the tendency to fear and doubt, to gloat, as well as from the desire to live at someone else's expense, man! Take responsibility for your life, spread your wings and rise in Spirit, dedicating the strength of your hands to good deeds and the fire in your heart to noble aspirations.

And then look at your brothers and sisters who shine being stars in the sky! Hear their stories about the splendor and beauty of the world, about the power that is hidden in you and which is a tailwind to your spread wings. Then you will remember that your destiny is to be the Creator, that your world is magic, that your Home is Eternity!

In one of Manly P. Hall's books there are these lines:

"Lu Tzu wrote: 'I must diligently sow my own field. It is there that the spiritual germ is found, which may live for a thousand years. Its flower is like yellow gold. Its bud is small, but its seed is round and like a flawless gem. Its growth depends on the soil of the central palace, but it must be watered from the highest fountain. After nine years of cultivation, it can be transplanted permanently to the heaven of the highest spirits.'

Although Johnson, quoted here, considers this statement to be beyond reasonable interpretation, it actually reveals the whole secret. The field is the physical body of the alchemist; the golden germ is the seed of the soul; the central palace is the heart, and the soil is the quality of virtue; the highest fountain is the Tao, or true spirit; the nine years symbolize the grades or degrees of esoteric discipline, and the heaven of spirits is the state of enlightenment. The whole story should be clear to the student of yoga."

This beautiful passage reveals the meaning of the fact that, on the one hand, according to the alchemists, every person is the bearer of a golden germ or seed of the soul, which begins to grow when the physical body of a person is pure, the heart is filled with Knowledge, and the mind with virtue.

On the other hand, Knowledge can be interpreted as an inner contemplation of the mystical interaction of the developed Soul with the Spirit, and thus, the process of spiritualization of human life through the development of high morality. It is thanks to morality that the Soul acquires the necessary volume and consonance with the subtlest impulses of the Divine principle in man. The alchemists called this Principle the "Golden Germ".

Purification through the Knowledge of one's own Soul, separation from it of base inclinations or "gross metals" in the language of alchemy and transformation of the Soul into pure Gold through the revelation in the Soul of the necessary qualities for the knowledge of the True Eternal Divine nature of man, which is also called "Spirit" - this is the process of obtaining gold from base metals.

Here is another interesting excerpt from the same book.

"They alone (the alchemical sages) understood that the creation of an ideal government or a happy human society depends on the same formulas that they used in the transmutation of metal."

A noble government, an ideal state and a happy human society are the result of not the external, but the internal work of the creators of such a government, the builders of the state and the members of human society. The transformation of external life is always a consequence of deep internal changes and internal transformations of a person. By cleansing one's personality from filth, ennobling the Soul with virtue and restoring the connection with one's Spirit, a person transforms everything around him, since he stands at the center of the transformation of the external world and its evolutionary development.

To build a good state, it is necessary to resort to the same laws of the universe that help a person develop his inner strength and reveal the most noble impulses in himself. A happy human society and a good government are not a dream on the horizon, but the fruits of the Golden Seed in a person, which grows thanks to the Divine combination of the health of the body, the nobility of the Soul, Wisdom, virtue and daily painstaking work in the name of the Good and all of humanity.

Wherever a person is, whenever he is and with whomever he is. Now and until his last breath.

That is why alchemists and magicians say: "The heart is in God, and the hands are in work."

A question often asked is: "What must I do to unleash the divine powers latent within me?"

While it is impossible to give a direct answer to this question, we will attempt to throw some light on the subject by setting forth the fundamental principles on which the Mystery Schools have been based in all ages as institutions of philosophical, ethical and religious culture.

The Mystery Schools are composed of enlightened men and women who have been admitted into the society of the Immortals. To attain such a high position requires first an almost inconceivable effort, for the aspirant to communion with these most advanced representatives of humanity must rise to their level.

The candidate must realize the importance of education.

While an uneducated person is capable of spiritual development, the fact remains that ignorance of the material arts and sciences seriously retards his moral progress in the ethical sphere. Not realizing the great importance of discipline, many students of the occult sciences ridicule modern systems of education, which excel in disciplining the mind. To learn to analyze is the first necessary step toward the successful acquisition of knowledge. Before one can think, one must first train the mind in reason, consistency, and logic—the essential ingredients of thought. All the so-called material arts and sciences are, after all, reflections of the Secret Wisdom. A man who understands mathematics will certainly understand the Divine Plan better than one who is ignorant of it. Pythagoras required of all candidates who sought admission to his school mastery of music, mathematics, and astronomy.

Before a candidate can honestly seek admission to the Temple of Wisdom, he must prepare offerings and bring them to the Temple. His only possible offering is himself, and this offering is accepted only if it proves useful for the dissemination of wisdom. The nearer this vehicle is to perfection, the more useful he is. If he can express himself in a dozen languages, that certainly speaks in his favor. If he is an excellent chemist, a gifted orator, a clear thinker, he has valuable gifts that can be quickly turned to the service of humanity. If, however, the candidate, no matter how sincere, comes to the doors of the Temple ignorant and untrained, he must first be prepared for his future work. Such preliminary training takes years. A man who wishes to devote himself unselfishly to the service of God - and this is the first condition for entering the Temple - should, of course, first educate himself, learning the lessons of the material world. He should under no circumstances try to find the Masters of Wisdom until he is ready to offer them something of real value, because the possibility of being useful is largely limited by mental capacity.
