Minions! I want to address my most recent video, as I feel I fell short in clearly conveying the concept I had in mind. As someone still relatively new to writing full video scripts, I may have tackled this topic a bit too soon. That said, I take full responsibility for the misstep.

Here's what I was trying to communicate: you haven't walked in your players' shoes. When running a one-shot or encounter, try to consider their perspectives, especially when it comes to anything that might make them uncomfortable. Don't hesitate to ask them directly, either! In my view, the biggest failure a GM can face is creating discomfort at the table. Not only would I feel awful about it, but I've seen it cause entire groups to fall apart. While the video takes a somewhat roundabout path to this point, this is the heart of what I was trying to convey

This video also had a second failure on my part: I didn’t properly consider the title and thumbnail while writing the script. By the time the video was finished, I couldn’t come up with a good hook that matched the content and wasn’t over-the-top clickbait. Unfortunately, I leaned into the latter, which was a mistake. I’ve since renamed the video and updated the thumbnail to better reflect its actual content (I'll be A/B testing two different thumbnails). Moving forward, I’ll ensure future videos are written with a clear title in mind so I can directly address it within the video itself. On that note, my next video will be titled "Should Critical Role ABANDON Dungeons & Dragons for Daggerheart?" (Or some variation thereof).

Thank you for sticking with me through this reflection! I’m committed towards improving and learning from these missteps as I continue making videos for all of you.

Minions! I wanted to give you all a small update - my Patreon is now closed! Given how inconsistent I’ve been over the last two years, I feel like I need to prioritize getting back into consistent video uploads again and not splitting my focus. Plus it felt wrong keeping the patreon open whilst I wasn’t producing any content.

That said, I will do a final patreon shoutout in my next video. And not just to those who were still subscribed, but to everyone that has supported me throughout the years on that platform.

I’ve also not once ever withdrawn money from patreon. That changed this past week where I pulled out everything and invested it all into a new vocal booth and audio equipment (hence the random photo, lol).

Anyhow, I hope you all are ready for a bit of a change with my next video! It’s shaping up to be incredibly engaging, but also unlike anything I’ve ever done before. I’ve been working on the concept for nearly a year now and so I’m super stoked to finally be nearing the moment I can unveil it.

Minions! I'm wondering, what's your primary language? I was actually intending for today's episode (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwtOw...) to be the first dual-language video I put out as I made an entire version in Spanish using an AI voice trained on my voice, but alas I don't have access to that feature as of yet. So I'm wanting to gauge what languages I should focus on when I do have access to it.
