It was a fascinating challenge to write original music to Rainer Maria Rilke's landmark poetry cycle, the Duino Elegies. These ten poems explore the human condition. With readings from Alfred Enoch and Nenda Neururer, the drama unfolds into a sort of reverie start to finish. It will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 as the final Drama on 3 series.
'Asleep On The Wing' is released today. Thank you for listening in all the places and head spaces you do. I like the Japanese term for ambient music—environmental sound. This EP completes when you open a window, let other sounds in. I hope you enjoy these migrations.
Recorded between my Studio Orphir & Real World Studios, via multiple extended tape loops, 'Asleep On The Wing' is out in full this Friday. In collaboration with Freya Goldmark, Katie May and Mirage Morricone.

Introducing 'Asleep On The Wing', my new ambient EP, released this spring. You can listen to a special edit, out today.
A sister piece to 'Do Birds Dream?', this is both an alternative to counting sheep and a travel companion, like a migrating bird. I'm always amazed at how my music finds its way into the lives of others. Thank you for your messages, letters, unexpected calls and listening.
I hope you enjoy it, alongside this video of a starling murmuration.
The full EP is out 14th March on World Sleep Day.

I'll be on BBC Radio 3 tomorrow, sharing my new piece 'Birds of Paradise'. It celebrates the natural world as a sort of sonic portrait for Sir David Attenborough. Recorded with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, soloist Freya Goldmark and conducted by Jack Sheen, it will be premiered Saturday morning then played all week as part of the '25 for 25, Sounds of the Century'. Tune in if you can, I hope you enjoy it.
This was so very special. On December 1st, BBC Radio 3 and Elizabeth Alker will broadcast the premiere of the orchestral reimagining of 'Carve The Runes' with soloist Freya Goldmark and the BBC Philharmonic recorded for Unclassified Live at Aerial Festival in the Lake District. Mark your calendars.
Announcing today, if you're joining me on my UK tour, you'll now be able to see a screening of Christian Cargill's award winning film, Recomposing Earth, before each performance at most of the venues. A truly fitting support act. Get down early.
