🌿 Teej — A Festival of Love, Faith & Tradition ❤️

Teej is a special Hindu festival celebrated by women, especially married women. In Bihar, it is traditionally observed with a 24-hour nirjala fast, meaning no food and no water, along with prayers for the well-being and long life of the husband.

Women dress in traditional clothes, wear sindoor, bindi, bangles and other jewellery, apply mehendi, and prepare for the festival with their families. 🌸

For many women, Teej is a beautiful blend of faith, love, devotion and cherished family traditions. ❤️

This is what my Indian mother-in-law’s kitchen looks like every year during Teej

In Bihar, Hartalika Teej is a special festival when married Hindu women traditionally observe a strict fast and pray to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati for their husband’s long life, well-being and a happy married life.

And in our home, Teej means one thing you can’t miss… the making of gujiya, or pidukiya! 🥟

These homemade sweets are prepared as part of the festival and shared with family, neighbours and loved ones.

A kitchen full of ghee, gujiya and tradition… this is what Teej looks like in Bihar.

For the past few months, I was silently struggling.

I was stressed because I couldn’t upload our vlogs the way I used to. There was a time when daily vlogging felt normal.. Recording, editing, uploading, and then starting all over again. I felt like I had to keep going because so many of you were waiting for the next vlog, and honestly, I didn’t want to disappoint you.

But somewhere along the way, I realized something.

Maybe I don’t have to keep running.

These past few weeks, I’ve slowly found my own pace. I upload every other day, and on the days I don’t upload, I get to do the things at home that I’ve been putting aside. I get to spend more time with Mishka. I get to breathe. I get to slowly edit the next vlog instead of rushing through it.

And strangely, I feel happier.

Our trip to the Philippines made me think about what I really want to remember from these years. Not how many videos I uploaded. Not how quickly I edited them. Not whether I managed to post every single day.

I want to remember the little moments.

The conversations with my family. The laughter. The ordinary days at home. The time I spent watching my daughter grow.

Because motherhood has taught me that children don’t wait for us to finish our work.

They grow while we are busy.

One day, you suddenly realize that the little hands that once needed you for everything are becoming more independent. The little voice calling “Mommy” is changing. And you understand that these moments cannot be edited, paused, or uploaded later.

So I’m learning to slow down.

Not because I’ve stopped caring about what I do.

But because I’ve started caring more about why I do it.

I’m still here. I’m still creating. I’m still sharing our life with all of you, and I’m incredibly grateful for every person who watches, supports, and waits for our next vlog.

But I’m also learning that it’s okay to take a breath.

It’s okay to choose family.

It’s okay to have an unfinished vlog when there is a child beside you asking you to play.

Maybe this is my new pace.

A little slower. A little calmer. A little more present.

And perhaps, this is what motherhood really is—not doing everything perfectly, but learning what deserves your time.

Because someday, I may look back at these years.

And I don’t think I’ll wish I had uploaded one more vlog.

I think I’ll be grateful that I was there. ❤️

“Bakit ba nagsusubuan ng cake tuwing birthday sa India?” 🇮🇳

Wala naman talagang specific na reason or official tradition behind it. Hindi siya parang may specific rule na “kailangan magsubuan ng cake kapag birthday.”

Pero siguro, ang magandang way para intindihin siya is ganito…

Kapag birthday, ang birthday celebrant ang center ng celebration. Kaya kapag pinapakain siya ng cake ng family, parang way lang nila of celebrating his or her life na “Happy birthday! We’re happy you’re here, and we’re celebrating you today.”

Tapos kapag yung birthday celebrant naman ang nagsusubo ng cake sa family, parang sharing the happiness with everyone.

Parang “Birthday ko, pero hindi ko naman sine-celebrate mag-isa. Kasama ko kayo sa happiness ko.”

So, walang deep or complicated meaning behind it.

It’s simply a sweet little gesture of love, celebration, and sharing happiness with the family.

Umorder si Abhi ng canvas board para daw makapag-painting ulit ako. 🥹

Usually kasi, yung mga art, crafts, at stationery na binibili namin, para kay Mishka. Kaya na-touch talaga ako na naisip ni Abhi na bumili ng canvas board para sa akin.

Hindi naman talaga ako magaling mag-painting. 😅 Mahilig lang ako gumawa-gawa ng DIY, arts and crafts, at kung anu-anong creative things kapag may time.

Blessed ako na may mister akong thoughtful. Yung hindi ko na kailangang sabihin kung ano yung kailangan ko—madalas, siya na mismo ang nakakapansin at nagbibigay. ❤️

Pero ayun… imbes na ako ang unang gumamit, hindi magpapatalo ang anak ko. 😂

Happy Raksha Bandhan! ✨💗

Today, we celebrate Raksha Bandhan, a beautiful Indian festival that celebrates the special bond between brothers and sisters.

During this tradition, a sister ties a rakhi (a sacred bracelet) around her brother’s wrist as a symbol of love, protection, and their lifelong bond. The brother, in return, promises to always support and protect his sister.

But beyond the rakhi and gifts, it’s really about family, love, gratitude, and being there for one another.
