@69DaVe Meet Tom Grey FNAF AU Tom Grey was once a well-liked performer at Fredbear’s Family Diner — the kind of employee who made the SpringBonnie character feel alive. Children adored him. Adults trusted him. For most, he was just another smiling suit behind the stage lights.
But the SpringBonnie costume was not a mascot. It was a mechanism — one held together by delicate springlocks and outdated engineering.
One night, during a routine performance, those locks failed.
There was no audience left. No witnesses. Just a split second — and then the metal snapped inward.
Tom died inside the suit.
William Afton was the first to find him.
Instead of reporting the death… William dragged the collapsed SpringBonnie shell into the back alley behind Fredbear’s — far from cameras, far from signatures, far from paperwork. The body was allowed to rot there in the dark. It became just another forgotten costume. And when the company rebuilt SpringBonnie — the new one was crafted without a name, without a history, and without the blood that stained the original.
Tom Grey was 24.
When Tom’s mother — Sarah Grey, Chief of Police — asked what happened to her son, William lied without hesitation.
“He never came back from his shift.” “No, I haven’t heard from him.” “Missing? …maybe.”
Sarah, the woman whose job is literally finding the missing, never thought to check the alley behind the place she trusted.
The tragedy is that Tom was never truly missing.
He was always there. Just one rusted door away.
The SpringBonnie suit rotted quietly — while a mother searched the city — blind to the truth sitting in the shadows of the diner she once used to drive past every night.

@enderlanchex and yes Wenda and her crew will be a part of this AU as well My Thomas and Friends AU Explained: This AU not all engines have faces where they’re smoke box door would be. It’s very rare for it to happen during the first firing. But there’s still biofused engines. If they want to be an engine, then the process isn’t rushed. Thomas and friends happened around 1960s and biofusion was banned in 1984. So it would be 24 years before it was banned. The ones with just the face on the smoke box door can’t move in their own and need a crew. If they get broken, they’ll be sent to the steamworks to get repaired. A biofused engine can move on their own and they don’t need a crew. But they still need one for common sense and someone has to shovel coal into the firebox. If a biofused engine gets damaged, then it would be sent to a different steamworks to be checked over just in case if they got damaged on the inside. Biofused engines and engines with faces are treated the same. I’m making this up as I make it. If you have any questions feel free to ask them in the comment section of this post only.
