I spend wayyyy too long on this drawing. But I wanted to draw Judith and Doll hanging out. This is Doll dressed up to play Sammi. Her hair is naturally pink, and she doesn't normally have black eyes.
Also I remembered to draw Canary. This is very rare haha.
The joke here is that every time I come with a new story, somehow all the characters’ struggles and emotions reflect what’s going in my personal life. This is would be fine if it was intentional!
This image has been stuck in my head ever since I made the last episode of the Overseers Podcast and decided that Quest would be a big Sammi x Explorer shipper and Method and Passion would not care either way. So, behold! I finally have art of a young Quest, Method, and Ambition! Podcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzZe0... Tumblr post: sarah-truly.tumblr.com/post/688612312059396096/thi…
I was thinking the other day that's been a while since I did a redraw. And then, I found out that I redrew this piece, "Burned Out" around this time in 2020. It was a two-year difference from the original piece in 2018, so if I wanted to redraw it again, this would be the year!
But instead of redrawing it in the same style and position, I thought it would be more fun to reimagine the piece as a fake screenshot. This is Fifth from my Never Rulers universe, btw. The illustration is depicting an important scene from my hypothetical show, Never Rulers. I've been wanting to make some fake screenshots for Never Rulers, so I decided to give it a shot (no pun intended).
I really like how it came out! The vibes are completely different from the last two. I really liked the despondent expression on the 2018 version. I feel like I lost some of that in the 2020 version. Fifth's expression looks more peaceful, or even bored, in the 2020 version. And that was not the vibe I was going for. So I really focused on the expression for this version and tried to go for a more distraught look.
Also I spent an hour and 40 minutes and the freaking line art alone for this. Straight up, the coloring took me 20 minutes and the rest of the time I was struggling with the lines. It'll be more clear why when I post the speedpaint. But I'm just happy I was able to push through it.
I did end up finishing that WIP. I think it came out pretty cool!
For those who don’t know, in this world, people have the opposite blood color from their skin color (it’s supposed to be much more dark and grey, but it kinda looked like vomit when I had it the right color, so I made it much brighter). So Seventh’s “purple” form has the blood of a red splattered across her face, but her true self has the blood of a purple splattered across her face. ✨symbolism✨
Felt kinda edgy last night, so I sketched this out. I’m not really motivated to finish it, but I still liked the sketch, so I just threw on some colors. There’s a lot of angst here.

Someone on tumblr asked what Ambition's disguise as the Explorer's son looked like, so I thought I'd draw it. He just wants to be a wizard boy.

Pst...I may have written a short story about Seventh. It's on my tumblr, but mind the TWs/CWs: sarah-truly.tumblr.com/post/689795531584716800/wai…

I know we're not to Doll and Judith in the podcast yet, but I randomly got inspiration to draw, so I did this meme.
(The Aspian isn't actually immortal, Ambi just calls them one cause they are functionally immortal)
