A new wave of observations came in at the exact moment many people thought the story was “settling down.”
3I Atlas was observed near opposition (a great geometry for detail), and what shows up now is… not a simple recap.

In a typical comet, activity peaks around perihelion, then fades.
But with 3I Atlas, the stronger “activation” appears after perihelion — with unusual dust/jet structure, fast morphological changes, and clearer signs of non-gravitational acceleration showing up late.

That doesn’t automatically mean anything exotic.
It does mean some standard comet models struggle to explain the timing, the stability of certain features, and the scale of what appears in a short window.
