Magical afternoon at the beach at a Home Ed friend’s rented beach hut today, and one of those moments where I said “wow, if they were at school right now they’d be sat in a classroom, but here they are: most of the beach to themselves, running free and crashing in the waves”.

9️⃣ Kids, 4️⃣ Mum’s, lots of sun and fresh air!

Home Ed can be hard sometimes so it’s SO important to savour these moments and remind yourself of the benefits your kids have.

Plus, fresh coffee on the beach for the Mum’s because we deserve it! 😁☕️

Also, tested out the new hat my Husband got given from work 🤠😂

BIG QUESTION...are you living the life you want?

Are there certain life choices you wish you could make but can't for a number of reasons: financially can't afford to, are worried to break away from the "norm" of how most people live their life etc?

I received a letter from my Local Authority telling me it was time to apply for a school place for my 4 yr old for this coming September. The deadline has no passed. I have NOT applied.

Have you had to write a home Ed report this year or have one coming up?

It’s the time of year for me again. Last week I sent my LA an update on my twins home education progress. THE NEXT DAY I got this reply. So much for LA’s being overwhelmed and taking ages to get back to people 😂

Well, that’s a weight off my shoulders and back to the main task of home educating and having fun with my kids.

🏖️ 💰 I never thought we’d be able to pay for everything we do month-on-month and still be able to save towards a holiday!

I know this amount isn’t going to get our family of 5 very far in the world at the moment, but the fact we’ve been able to save *anything* at all living on one salary on top of mortgage payments, car insurance/petrol, the food shopping, etc AND Home Educating, amazes me! It’s all down to spending the last year budgeting and saving with Monzo (I’ve had a Monzo account for 4 years prior to that and not used it to it’s full potential!). Thanks to another home educating friend who introduced me to this!
