Hello!

Thanks for stopping by! (Formally XxHartofaWarriorxX) My name is Marie, I am a 24 year old video editor from the United States. When I’m not reading or studying, you can usually find me editing my favorites movies and tv shows, or the latest movie I discovered.

As you can see, I have a very diverse list of fandoms, but my favorites include Star Wars and Harry Potter (I’m a Slytherin btw).

If you’d like to support my work and help me upgrade my softwares or equipment, please feel free to subscribe me on Patreon and Ko-Fi (coming soon).

I started watching the Rings of Powers and here is my honest opinion.

Is it visually stunning? Yes.

Are the actors perfectly matched to the characters in the books? No.
Many of the elves lack the delicate and angelic features that made them so ethereal in the books. Compared Jackson’s elves, there is something severely lacking.

Did the show capture the essence of Tolkiens work? No.
It tired, but ultimately it failed. There was never an in between when it came to the morals of Tolkien’s work. There was only light and dark. Those that struggled, like Gollum and Boromir, either succumbed to their weakness or chose the right path. But there was never any good orcs fighting on the wrong side like the show suggests.

There are a few things that really stood out as contradictory to Tolkiens work. The first one that comes to mind is the animosity between Elves and Men. Now, I’m not saying relations between the two races were perfect. However, Elves were viewed as the supreme good in Middle Earth. And while the Dwarves and Elves had their history of quarrels, when it came to the race of Men, the Elves were always seen as an ally. The second is the storyline. I understand Amazon was not able to purchase all the rights to Tolkiens work, so a lot of it had to be either filled in or cut out. But that doesn’t mean they couldn’t have tried harder to capture the work of Tolkien. Had Peter Jackson been a consultant or screenwriter then perhaps it would have been better.

Now let’s talk about what I do enjoy. The music is beautiful, the scenery breathtaking. And overall it’s an enjoyable show. Does it come even close to the movies, there is light years between them. The movies are obviously superior and always will be. But all in all, the show is definitely enjoyable once you put aside the glaring differences from Tolkiens work.

If Nicola and Luke aren’t soulmates, than can someone please explain to me why her eyes are dilated in the love scene? It’s broad daylight, and dilated eyes are a clear sign of attention. #Bridgerton #Polin

Okay, hear me out. The love scene with Penelope and Colin in episode 5, would have been far more touching, had they used different song. Biblical by Callum Scott is so moving, and would have been absolutely beautiful and perfect for their first time. Prove me wrong. #bridgerton #polin #colinandpenelope

It’s a bittersweet moment. Hartofawarrior has been with me through thick and thin, under this name I grew my small community of faithful subscribers, but now we must turn the page to a new chapter. After a lot of thoughtful reflection, I decided to start editing under my own name, and I couldn’t be more excited to do so. Thank you sticking with me. I can’t not to see how we grow in this new era.

I am thinking of rebranding. I feel as though I have grown out of my current channel name. It feels outdated and no longer in line with the style of editing. So with that said, what do you guys think?
