Hey y'all-

Unfortunately, I find myself still on the market and actively looking for next role. I knew when I was laid off earlier this year that the market for recruiting was the worst that it has been during my 15+ year career and sadly, I think it has only gotten worse since then 📉

I've been contemplating whether to post about my search again but have struggled to find the words to explain how it has been going, how it feels, and also embarrassed to ask for help. At this point, what I've been doing isn't working so why not be fully vulnerable: it's been brutal to be honest 😞

Its not only applying for job after job but also the way all of the applications and hiring processes have gone. I've been referred by friends for at least 5 roles and have only received company contact for one of those which is outrageous to me based on the way the recruiting teams I've been on and managed have operated in the past. Not only from a candidate experience perspective but from a human perspective too... its felt hopeless and robotic at times. My inner Recruiter wonders how if this is how companies are operating (not following-up with referrals, not responding to all applications even if its a system email, not following up with candidates they've interviewed), why can't I find a role ❄️

I guess onward and upward as they say... 🚀

I am based in Austin, TX and open to fully remote or hybrid roles as a Recruiter, Lead, or Manager. A majority of my experience from the past 10 years has been technical but I have strong non-technical experience too and am typically the Recruiter on the team people ask for help on filling the hardest and niche roles. Personally, I am very passionate about diversity and inclusion, both as it pertains to recruiting and otherwise, as well as problem-solving, both on the recruiting and also hiring process front 🌈
