**The House on Tenaya: A Holiday in Need of Magic**

In a quiet neighborhood on Tenaya Way, a 72-year-old artist named Leslie Ohnstad faces an urgent and desperate situation. With only eight days remaining until 6:01 AM on December 30, 2025, Leslie counts down the hours as she grapples with the reality of a potential eviction from her home, a fate she feels is akin to a death sentence.

On December 22, 2025, an ex parte emergency order is filed on Leslie’s behalf for:

- Imprope service in an unlawful detainer
- Discriminatory actions against her as a disabled individual

Leslie prays that the judge will hear her case before December 30, 2025.

For three decades, Leslie has poured her heart into teaching art, color mixing, and color therapy. Inspired by Barbra Streisand's words, “You have got to discover you, what you do, and trust it,” she launched her business, ColourArte, in 1995 after her husband left her for daring to pursue her dreams. With just $297 left on her credit card, she found support from a local rubber stamp art store owner who provided a loan to help her create her first product line, Radiant Pearls. Her journey, marked by resilience, soon captured the attention of *The Fresno Bee*, which heralded her as a local entrepreneurial success.

Over the years, Leslie developed 11 innovative products, all custom-mixed in her kitchen, garnering orders from as far away as Sweden and Japan. Her creations have become a beacon of hope, embraced as a form of color therapy by individuals around the globe.

However, the tide turned tragically in 2021 when Leslie was diagnosed with sarcoidosis, a terminal illness that leaves her vulnerable to even minor ailments. Since then, she has lived in isolation, relying on Zoom for doctor visits and delivery services for groceries. The holidays that once sparkled with joy have become solitary, colorless days spent alone.

After 19 years in her previous home, Leslie faced another blow when her landlady decided to give the property to her daughter.

On September 13, 2024, Leslie moved to a new house, armed with a glowing 19-year reference.

Yet today, she finds herself battling eviction through no fault of her own, with no family to support her. The thought of living in her car looms large, feeling like a death sentence.

Desperate for assistance, Leslie's doctors have approved her move to a more rural area where she can find the support she needs. April Tyson and her family have stepped in, offering to adopt her and setting up a GoFundMe campaign to help fund her relocation to Indiana. The campaign aims to provide Leslie with a lifeline, connecting her with a community that can help.

As the days dwindle, Leslie's life hangs in the balance. Her entire life's work, worth millions in materials and creativity, is trapped within the walls of her home. If evicted, she risks losing everything she has built.

Leslie pleads for the media's help to shed light on her situation, hoping for a holiday miracle that could change her fate. "It would mean the world to me," she says, her voice steady despite the weight of her circumstances. "I just want to find a place where I can be supported and continue sharing my passion for color and art."

As the clock ticks down, the house on Tenaya stands as a silent testament to resilience, courage, and the hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Thanks for listening
