Hi I’m Jasmine Kan! I have two little sisters who are always filling my head with ideas for my videos. From performing in competitions and diving down into a good mystery - I love them both! I’ve always loved singing since I could remember. And I plan to keep on doing what I love: SING!

Do you think this book nook looks good? I love to sing, but in my free time I also love to write. Here is one of my very random stories. It’s quite long, if you do read it all, THANK YOU!
.......
A Wizard’s long dark blue robe glistened with stars. A long hat sat on his head, with the same starry sky as his robe.
A tall brick tower rose through a sea of thick trees, ascending towards the heavens. A sparkling glass dome glistened in the evening sky on the top of the tower. A giant wall of glass overlooking the earth from the highest point in the tower.
The Wizard slowly made his way to a small wooden door at the base of the tower, hidden within vines and blooming flowers. A small golden plaque revealed behind the shrubbery; ‘The Astronomer’s Tower.’
He pulled open the door to his home, making his way up the long flight of stairs. At the top of the staircase was a door. He paused, taking a moment to wipe the sweat off his forehead and catch his breath.
Pushing himself through the door, he entered a large room.
A giant window was across the room, peaking at the setting sun, dipping into the trees. Book shelves lined the walls, reaching from the floor to the glass dome overviewing the darkening sky above him.
A small, cosy fireplace was amongst one of the bookshelves. In the middle of the giant room was a misty blue orb. Floating in the air, above a golden pedestal. The orb rotated and bobbed, thin white rings surrounding it, all at jaunty angles. Smaller, but similar blue orbs floated along the rings, all moving at different speeds.
The Wizard’s heart felt heavy, he missed her. He would spend tireless hours, mixing and brewing different potions and concoctions, but none of them ever brought her back.
A small cat was purring against his leg, he picked him up, letting him sink into his arms. “Hello, Stone,” the Wizard whispered. He stroked the cat’s fur, slowly making his way to the red velvet arm chair that lay nestled at the far corner of the window. Stone curled up on the Wizard’s lap, dozing off into a peaceful sleep, his chest rising and falling with each small breath.
The Wizard stared up at the vast night sky. His eyes trailing along the bright starry path. He gasped, and his heart almost leapt up from his chest. She was the brightest and biggest star in the whole twinkling sky. The Wizard smiled, before snapping into a frown.
The Wizard got up, gently laying Stone on the floor. He limped down the steps, his hands gripping the golden rail as he wheezed and gasped. He slowly crumbled to floor, his breathing and heartbeat accelerating. Clutching his chest, he was swept into a dream. . .
He was standing in the middle of a village. His wrinkles faded away, the colour coming back alive in his body. His sparkling blue robe faded away into a suit and top hat. He was walking hand in hand with someone.
A beautiful young woman held tightly onto the Wizard’s hand. She had bright green eyes, flowing red hair, and a white bonnet.
An elderly lady passed by them, clutching a straw basket. Until suddenly, she fell to the floor, screaming. Her basket full of goods flew everywhere, a carriage and a horse trampling over most of them.
The young woman’s hand started slipping from the Wizard’s. She went over to help the elderly lady, who was still strewn on the grit road. She knelt down before getting whacked, “I don’t need your help! You can stop being so kind and leave me alone!” she screeched.
“But-”
“I said, to leave me alone,” she repeated, in a low menacing tone. “What part of ‘alone’ do you not understand?” She stared the young woman deep in her eyes.
The young woman stood there, frozen, all the muscles in her body stiffing. Her bright green eyes pinpointed on the elderly lady.
“Evangeline?” cried the Wizard. “Evangeline!?” The Wizard waved his hand in front of young woman, but her eyes were still fixed on the elderly lady.
“A whisper on the wind, a silent flight, May your essence rise, bathed in starlight. No earthly tether, no familiar ground, only cosmic dust and silence profound.”
The elderly lady began to rise. The Wizard stared in horror, a thousand different emotions flashing and racing through his mind.
In a quick, unexpected moment, the lady dropped from the air. And she was gone. Evangeline dropped to the ground with a thud, grunting, before getting pulled into the sky, a shooting star in reverse. A small twinkle shone in the dimmed sky, glowing brighter and brighter, before drowning in the presence of a thousand other stars. . . All that was left was a small tiny jar of sparkling stars.
The Wizard woke up, his eyes misty, under the gleaming of the lights.
The following morning, the Wizard continued with his daily routine: to find the right pinch of sand, the perfect amount of bubbling water, to bring Evangeline back to Earth. With each attempt, the Wizard became more desperate to find the right concoction. Before his eyes found the tiny jar filled with tiny stars.
Nightfall was starting to arrive, the last bird calls wavering through the air, the sound of silence dooming over him. He poured his latest product into a small glass flask, setting it down on the table. He looked back at the jar of stars. Did it have anything to do with bringing Evangeline back to him? Curious and with not much time, he poured the stars into the glass flask. Under the lights, it shined like a rainbow, rippling like oil on water.
The Wizard held out his newest potion, holding it out to the sky. He stood on the edge of the world. On top of the glass dome on his tower. He could feel the cold breeze rushing past his face, mocking to push him off. Any wrong move, any wrong step, and this would be his last.
The Wizard stared at the biggest and brightest star, so much hope bubbling through his body. He thought he might burst. Evangeline. He held up the glass flask, hoping for anything to happen. He stood there holding his potion at the sky, hoping it would pull Evangeline back out of the sky. But nothing happened. A tear slipped out of the Wizard’s eye. He withered to the ground, all his hope gone. He set his potion beside him, angry and frustrated.
Until, a small spark flickered out of the Wizard’s finger. A small droplet of his potion had landed on his finger. The Wizard watched in awe as his whole body glistened with sparkles. He started rising up towards the sky. The Wizard slowly started to ascend towards the stars, and each breath felt weightless, like any force that was holding him back was gone. Time seemed to slow until he was finally in the sky, looking down at the Earth.
“Julian!”
The Wizard swivelled his head around. He couldn’t believe his eyes. "Evangeline!"
Below, the world was small, and the Wizard couldn’t even see his own tower. Or the small black cat that sat on the red velvet armchair, watching the stars dance, in hope someday, he would see the Wizard once more. . .
