San Juan Branch Line Trainz Series

Celebrating 16 years of videos!

The "San Juan Branch Line Trainz Series" sets out to take an older and more thoughtful look at the talking train genre. With Jonathan Eau Claire's focus on writing towards subversion and creativity, and the excellent visual and audio editing talents of the team behind the scenes, the series has gained a small but loyal fanbase on platforms including Youtube, Facebook, and Discord.

It may be of interest to the fans that we are working on several projects at once. Here are the thumbnails for a few of them. Keep in mind, these are long-term goals and we are working hard to make them as good as possible.

San Juan Branch Line Trainz Series

Unproduced script, "Ice Elation"
Kent travels to an island surrounded by a frozen lake serving a research facility. He joins two self-isolating locomotives, identified only by their numbers 694 and 3512, who choose to operate alone without crew help. Kent tries to relate to their sunken history to convince at least one of them to regain society, for better or worse.

San Juan Branch Line Trainz Series

"San Juan Branch Line" is formally cancelled. I don't want to leave people hanging, but I have no drive to do it anymore and other parts of career and life have overtaken it.

In short, I finally realized that talking trains are a creative limitation I could no longer overcome, and I'm having more interest in other writing projects I've taken on. SJBL had a decent run that I never truly embraced, but I'll be happy to answer questions the fans have and even contribute voices elsewhere. But there is zero Trainz show I produce anymore.

Follow up post about my upcoming projects to come. Thanks again to the fans and patrons for helping over the years.
