Welcome to my channel. I'm a self-taught computer programmer and I'll be building a Jarvis-like digital assistant using Python. I want to build a community and fan base of people helping me achieve my goals and help others achieve their goals.
I started learning programming in the 90s with Qbasic and then joined the Air Force which separated me from my programming goals. I learned VBA from 2010-2013 for my job as a Finance Officer. From 2012-2013 I grinded through C++ tutorials on YouTube and built a pretty good chatbot.
Then, from 2018-2019, in a sort-of mid-life crisis, I launched headfirst into building my own digital assistant S.H.A.N.E. using Python. I hope to post videos weekly highlighting individual functions that S.H.A.N.E. will be able to use and then every 10 or more videos, release a complete update. I hope you like these videos and subscribe to my channel.

💡 Home Assistant: I’m restarting my Home Assistant adventure! I’ve been fighting some WiFi gremlins, but they’re finally fixed, so that video is back on track.
🎄 HinksPix Pro Lights: I pulled out my HinksPix Pro Christmas light controller to make some arches, but of course, it needs a manual firmware update first.
🪓 Bitcraft Online: I’m slowly closing in on 500 hours in Bitcraft Online, and once I hit that milestone, I’ll post a full “500 Hours Later” update video.

Sorry it's been so long since my last video, but I had some vacations and my previous codes aren't working well on my new PC, so I'm having to redo some coding work. I've got some videos coming out this month (August). 1) A new python video dropping hopefully, 2) a 400K stone hand-dug Minecraft update, and 3) my IRL Cosplay at a local Comic Con.

So, I my laptop died before I had a chance to move all my codes to my PC. I'm planning on doing my first live stream, but would like to have at least 1 viewer...lol. I will be redoing my dividend tracker in Python from scratch. What time would my audience prefer a leave stream? Even if it's just to stop in and say hi.

Sorry for the continued delay in the next video. I've been studying for the Project Management Professional (PMP) exam. I took it on Thursday and passed it. It's 180 situational questions and it take 2-4 hours to complete. I've been busy on the next video now. It should be out in the next couple of days. Is there any interest in a "How I passed my PMP exam" video?

Hello world! If you've been following my Dividend Tracker videos, you may have started getting errors with the base URL from the yahoo API. The base URL is now: query2.finance.yahoo.com/v6/finance/quoteSummary/. #yfinance is having the same problem so people are having to pip upgrade their library regularly. I hope this helps.

Sorry for the delay in the next video. I've using the yahoo_fin library to build my dividend app and it stopped worked. Something changed in the urls recently and the author hasn't made the update. I'm trying to troublehshoot it myself but until then, all my videos will cause an "assertion error" asking you to make sure the ticket is valid. Which it is. Hopefully, I can figure it out this week. Thank you for your patience.
