Today we celebrate the Feast Day of the Doctor of the Church, Philosophical Genius, and beloved Theologian Saint Thomas Aquinas. ⤵️

When Aquinas joined the University of Paris as a young Dominican, the influx of Arabian and Aristotelian Science and Philosophy was creating a strong reaction within the Academies of the Church- and many believers attempted to block their spread throughout Christendom.

For the first time, Christian Theologians were being confronted with rationalism. Would Theology survive as a science? Could faith and reason be incorporated?

Thomas Aquinas rose to the challenge, creating two masterpieces that would influence the way the Catholic Church approached truth forever. His Summa Theologica and Summa Contra Gentiles still, over 800 years later, stand as jewels in the crown of Christianity's Intellectual Tradition, one that is transformed forever because of his scholarship.

May we continue to live up to this tradition. St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for us!

Happy Feast of the Epiphany! Today we recognize ourselves in the Magi… we can feel the restlessness in our hearts- searching, seeking, longing for truth. Longing for God. And we rejoice that God meets us on this journey- He uses what is familiar to us to draw us to Him.

I pray that like the Magi, we recognize God when we see Him- even if it’s in the most humble of people or most unexpected of places.

After reading the book “The Case for Patriarchy” by Tim Gordon, I knew I had to respond. The book was AWFUL.

BUT, I knew I could not do so without making it unequivocally clear that I am not a radical feminist, that I do believe in Paternal Headship, and that I believe in what the Bible says about women submitting to their husbands.

SO- I created my own case for Patriarchy. One that uses biological and theological evidence to support the argument, rather than weird analogies and pages and pages on the WNBA.
