Alabama has a few Tight Ends scheduled to visit over the next few weeks as summer visits get started, including 4⭐️ Malik Howard.

The Tide will have its work cut out for them as Howard also has OVs scheduled for Tennessee and Notre Dame (via 247), AFTER visiting Tuscaloosa next weekend.

Alabama’s GM Courtney Morgan isn’t playing around when it comes to recruits and OVs.

“If we can’t come to an agreement, you just don’t bring them for an OV. We’ll cancel the kid’s visit. There was a big time player last year, top of his position, we just told him don’t come because we couldn’t meet on the terms he wanted.”

Got a pretty good idea who he’s talking about. The business of recruitment is insane!!! Have to have Courtney heading it up in Ttown.

Yes - Alabama needs to run the ball better, but Kalen DeBoer has had really good teams that couldn’t run the ball much better than Alabama did in 2024 (mind you most yards on the ground that year were coming from Jalen Milroe). It (run blocking and run game) must get better on the ground, but don’t expect it to dominate.

More importantly for this offense - OL consistency has to also pick it up in pass protection. A lot of people were down on Milroe as a passer, but part of his issue was having to run for his life. Alabama ended up having similar issues with Ty Simpson in 2025.

This offense is QB-centric as illustrated by Washington’s 2022 and 2023 offenses who were both ranked top 13 nationally (#7 in 2022 with the top rated passing offense, #13 in 2023 with the most passing yards per game) - both WITHOUT elite run games.

For comparison - even with Ty Simpson at QB, Alabama ranked 49th in 2025 and 22nd in 2024 in total offense.

Alabama must improve its O-line play overall, but it must get more from its QBs as well if DeBeor and Grubb hope to replicate the success they had at Washington in Tuscaloosa.
