Purushottam Maas (Adhik Maas) is a highly sacred and spiritually powerful month dedicated to Bhagwan Vishnu. This divine month begins on May 17th and continues till June 15th, offering devotees a rare opportunity for deep bhakti, sadhana, and spiritual upliftment.

During this holy period, one can chant Vishnu Sahasranama daily, offer Tulsi Archana, and chant sacred mantras like “Om Namo Narayanaya” and “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya.” Visiting Vishnu and Krishna temples, reading the Bhagavad Gita or Srimad Bhagavatham daily, and engaging in Smarana, Keerthana, and Naama Sankeerthanam are considered highly auspicious.

Purushottam Maas is a time to focus the mind on Bhagwan Vishnu, listen to and reflect upon His divine stories, and immerse oneself in devotion, prayer, and dharma for inner peace and blessings.

Narada, also known as Devarshi Narada, is one of the most revered sages in Hindu tradition. He is considered a divine messenger of the gods, constantly traveling across worlds, spreading knowledge, devotion, and truth.

He is often depicted holding a veena (musical instrument) and chanting the name of Lord Vishnu, symbolizing pure bhakti (devotion). Narada is known not just for delivering messages, but for guiding events in a way that ultimately leads to dharma (righteousness)—even if his methods sometimes appear playful or provocative.

More than a sage, Narada represents wisdom in motion—a reminder that true devotion and knowledge should be shared selflessly for the greater good.

Devi Chinnamasta is one of the powerful forms among the Dasa Mahavidyas in Sanatana Dharma. She represents self-sacrifice, transformation, and the balance between life and death.

She is uniquely depicted as a goddess who severs her own head, symbolizing the cutting of ego and the realization of higher consciousness. The flowing streams represent prana (life energy) nourishing both herself and her attendants — a deep teaching that true power lies in giving, not possessing.

Chinnamasta also signifies the union of opposites — creation and destruction, control and surrender — reminding us that spiritual awakening often comes through intense inner transformation.

“Is your God in this pillar?” he mocked.

The pillar broke.

From it came Narasimha—
