I used to think lifting weights was a young person's game.

It couldn't be further from the truth.

Staying strong is what protects you the most as you get older.

It keeps you independent, it helps with bones, hormones, stops falls and is great for your mental health.

If I had to give just one piece of advise to anyone in the world about their health, it would be stay strong to live long.

Stay strong, live long đŸ«¶đŸ«¶

As Ronan Keating once said ‘ If tomorrow never comes ‘

The downside of getting older is that everyone else does around you.

Parents, family members and friends get unwell and the result, well I don’t have to spell it out to you.

Tomorrow is never promised but one thing for certain is, we control our own health and fitness.

You can white-knuckle your way through a diet. You can follow a plan from the internet and lose some weight. Plenty of people do.

But if nobody teaches you the why behind what you’re doing, if nobody helps you build habits that actually stick when life gets in the way, you end up back where you started. Again.

I know this because I’ve been there myself.

I spent years randomly following ‘on-trend’ workouts, barely resting, following whatever dietary trend was popular that month.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realise that none of it was necessary.

That’s why I coach the way I do now.

No extremes. No foods you’re banned from eating. A structured approach built around your life that you can turn up when things are good and turn down when things are hectic, but never off.

I don’t take on loads of clients at once, not because I’m trying to sound exclusive, but because the moment I take on too many, the quality of support drops. And the support is the whole point.

If you’ve been telling yourself you’ll sort this out next month, I’d ask you one thing: how many months have you been saying that?

There will always be something going on.

A birthday, a holiday, a stressful patch at work. That never changes.

The only thing that changes is whether you’ve built the habits and knowledge to handle it without falling apart.

I’ve made the mistakes, so you don’t have to. Instead of guessing or following someone else’s plan, you need to build your plan. The only way to do this is to understand and learn, not just copy.

Send me a message if you have had enough of guessing what will work, and actually want a programme that is for you that you can manage around your life.

I used to think I had a willpower problem.

I’d be doing brilliantly. Then a bad day at work, a weekend away, a birthday meal, and I’d convince myself I’d ruined everything.

Back to square one. Again.

The guilt. The frustration. The “right, Monday I’m starting over.”

If you’ve felt that, you already know how exhausting it is.

What I didn’t realise, and what took me far too long to figure out, was that I wasn’t broken. I wasn’t weak. I just kept trying to follow a path that was never built for my life.

Someone else’s diet. Someone else’s training plan. Someone else’s version of what getting healthy was supposed to look like.

The day everything changed wasn’t when I found a better programme.

It was when I stopped looking for one.

When I started understanding why things work, not just what to do. When I stopped punishing myself for being human and started working with my life instead of against it.

There’s no wagon. There never was.

There’s just your road. And once you know how to walk it, you don’t fall off, because there’s nothing to fall off of.

I work with a small number of new people each month, just 2 or 3, so that I can give proper attention to each person and their life, not a cookie-cutter plan.

Spaces are open for March.

If that resonates and you’d like to find out more, head here apply.craigjackson.fitness/ and I’ll get back to you.

Your child comes home from school with a story.

“Dad, you know Sam? His parents give him £50 pocket money every week. He can stay up as late as he wants. He gets whatever he asks for.”

You know it’s rubbish. Either completely made up or an extreme situation that’s nothing like real life.

So you say: “No way. That’s not how it works.”

Now here’s the problem:

On social media, WE become that child.

We see the extremes. The 6am ice baths. The 5-day fasts. The person who lost 3 stone in 8 weeks detox diet

And we think: “That sounds amazing” or “That sounds mental.”

But either way, we’re drawn to it. Like a moth to a bulb.

When really, like the moth, we should stay away from the bulb. Because those extreme stories? They’re either made up or they’re damaging someone’s physical and mental health.

Nothing needs to be extreme to look after your health.

In fact, the more extreme it is, the more damage it’s likely doing.

Real life doesn’t need ice baths and chicken for every meal.

Real life needs sustainable habits that actually work when you’ve got a job, kids, and a life.

If you’re scrolling Instagram at 11pm looking at transformation stories, you’re not lacking motivation.

You’re looking for inspiration.

But tomorrow morning when the alarm goes off? That inspiration from last night means nothing.

Because inspiration is just a feeling. And feelings don’t get you results when it’s cold, dark, and your bed is comfortable.

Action does.

I spent years waiting to “feel ready” before I’d start.

Waiting for the perfect Monday, the right headspace, that surge of motivation that would make it all feel easy.

It never came.

What actually changed things? Starting anyway. Taking action on a random Tuesday when I didn’t feel ready, didn’t feel motivated, but did it regardless.

And what I didn’t expect: the benefits went way beyond how I looked.

I laughed more. Smiled more. Had the energy to actually get stuck in with my kids instead of just supervising from the sofa. I was more present with them because I felt better in my own skin.

Looking after your body changes your mind too. They’re linked. And when you realise that connection, it’s powerful.

That’s when I discovered that motivation doesn’t create action - action creates motivation.

You don’t need to feel inspired to take the first step. You just need to take it.

The motivation you’re looking for? It’s on the other side of consistent action, not before it.

My 6-week fat loss programme Breaking Fads opens spaces in 2 days (28th Jan) to the priority list. If you’re ready to take action instead of waiting for motivation, head here breakingfad.craigjackson.fitness/breakingfads.

Priority list members can get 7 weeks for the price of 6.

Let me tell you what Breaking Fads actually is and more importantly, what it isn’t.

It’s not another diet programme.

I’m not handing you a meal plan. I’m not telling you to cut out carbs after 6pm or avoid bread like it’s radioactive.

I’m not giving you shakes to replace actual food.

Breaking Fads is a 6-week programme starting 9th February that teaches you how fat loss actually works so you’ll never need another fad diet again.

Here’s what happens over those 6 weeks:

You’ll have your own personal coach who’ll check in with you with video feedback.

You’ll join weekly live sessions where we go into detail on fat loss, what works, exercise, and navigating real life.

You’ll be part of a private community of people who actually understand what you’re dealing with.

And you’ll have challenges each week to keep you moving forward.

Most importantly? You’ll learn the fundamentals. The stuff nobody else bothers teaching because they’d rather you stay dependent on their next programme.

By the end, you’ll know exactly what drives fat loss, what’s complete nonsense, and how to make decisions that work for your actual life - family dinners, Friday pints, busy weeks where meal prep goes out the window.

You’ll lose anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds in the 6 weeks (most people do). But that’s not even the main point.

The main point is you’ll understand what you’re doing. So when Breaking Fads ends, you won’t pile the weight back on like every other time. You’ll just... keep going.

Because you’ll know how.

Oh, and one Breaking Fadder wins ÂŁ300 cash. Because why not.

Now here’s what I need you to do:

Starts on 9th February, limited spaces and early access and discount if you join the priority list. Head here breakingfad.craigjackson.fitness/breakingfads join the priority list and get an extra week free.

Just because a Calorie is consumed doesn’t mean all of it is absorbed. Depending on the macronutrient, your body uses a portion of those Calories just for processing; this is called the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF)

Fibre is a bit of a metabolic 'loophole.' Even though it is technically a carbohydrate, your body can’t digest it directly. Instead, your system expends extra energy just trying to move and process it, which actually boosts your metabolism! Because of this, you only absorb 0 to 2 calories per gram (roughly 0–50% of a normal carb) while staying fuller for longer.

Many people use calculators but still don't see results. This is often because they lack deeper instructions on how to apply those numbers to real life.

That’s why I built what I believe is the best Calorie Calculator out there and you can use it for FREE here: m.craigjackson.fitness/calories

Are you a Traitor or 100% faithful?

Bourbons vs Custard Creams.

Obviously, Bourbons are superior.

My wife disagrees. She’s a Custard Cream traitor.

I’ve been faithful to Bourbons since 1981.

The thing is though:

We’re both right.

They’re both cream biscuits. They both do the job. One isn’t “correct.”

It’s just preference.

I used to be a traitor to my own body.

Jumping from keto to fasting to training six days a week.

Whatever the latest YouTuber or podcast guest swore by.

None of it stuck.

Because I was trying to be someone else’s version of healthy.

The diet industry sells you

THE answer.
THE diet.
THE plan.

As if there’s only one correct approach.

As if your life doesn’t matter.

What works is what you’ll actually stick to.

And what you’ll stick to fits YOUR life. Not someone else’s Instagram routine.

That’s Breaking Fads.

My six-week fat loss programme that shows you how to build YOUR approach.

Not mine. Not some influencer’s. Yours.

The priority list is open now.

Join and you get:

∙ Early access when it launches
∙ £30 discount
∙ First pick of spots
∙ Learn about the £300 cash prize draw

Limited to 35 people.

Head here to join the priority list. breakingfad.craigjackson.fitness/breakingfads

Even if you prefer Custard Creams.
