LISA wants to live a normal life. She wants to be in love, get married one day, and have kids. She doesn’t want her fans to be disappointed just because she wants a love life.
She wants her dad to walk her down the aisle, but he is sick and she’s scared. LISA’s dad has poor health, and one of her dreams is to have him walk her down the aisle. She started crying while thinking about him potentially not being there for her when she gets married.
In her documentary, LISA and her family were seen discussing her contract with YG Entertainment, and she mentioned that only one year remained on her deal with the agency.
It is said that these clips were filmed before the Deadline World tour (...) it’s very unlikely LISA will renew with YG.
Tyla participated in the documentary ‘Always Lalisa’:
“She sees LISA as an older sister and thinks both are in the same boat, trying to understand Hollywood’s music industry, coming from different backgrounds and cultures. It was Tyla who also encouraged LISA to be a little bolder.”
LISA’s manager, Alice, described the album leak as frustrating and said she knew LISA would be disappointed. once they discovered it, the team immediately started reporting every leaked copy.
LISA also spoke about the leak, saying she cannot understand why anyone would leak an artist’s work without thinking about the impact. she hopes the person responsible never does the same thing to another artist.
LISA shared that, once, she recorded herself singing a Bruno Mars song for a monthly evaluation at YG. Although her vocal coach was very impressed with her voice, one of the mentors told her that she should focus on rap.
The situation made LISA start to doubt her own ability as a singer. Out of fear of being eliminated, she ended up setting aside her passion for singing and began dedicating herself almost exclusively to rap.
That episode marked her for years and also influenced her trajectory as a solo artist. Today, however, she feels much more confident to explore different sides of her art.
After the end of her one-year break, she returned to South Korea with the fear of being placed back into a “box” by YG. LISA made it clear how much she values her artistic freedom—and, this time, she doesn't want to give it up.
LISA revealed in the documentary that YG made her redo an entire dance practice video because she was singing instead of rapping, and that this really shook her confidence to sing for years.
She gradually regained that confidence during her one-year hiatus from BLACKPINK.
LISA vented about how suffocating and limiting a K-pop star's routine is. She shared that, back in her YG days, she needed permission for absolutely everything: she couldn’t go clubbing, hang out with friends, and certainly not travel. She even revealed that she only went to a party/club for the first time in her life at 25.
She also touched on the issue of relationships and the taboo imposed on idols. She said that whenever she started dating someone, she had to keep the relationship under lock and key and ended up just breaking it off out of fear of damaging BLACKPINK's image and popularity, since in the industry, the unspoken rule is that getting caught dating makes your relevance plummet overnight.
