Here is my 2025 Mansfield Alto Smart Height toilet finally just the way I want it. Although it was installed a week ago, I had to pull it from the floor and replace the worn out Danco Hydroseat flange repair with a new one because the toilet was wobbling and wouldn’t sit steady on the floor. Replacing the worn out Hydroseat with a brand new one did the trick, and now the toilet is securely and steadily bolted to the floor. I also ended up having to replace the supply line because the washer inside the coupling nut was worn out and leaking. In addition, you’ll notice the Lasco Adjustable Height Ballcock fill valve in the tank along with the Mansfield # 211 flush tower.
My brand new Mansfield Alto Smart Height arrived today. Despite the one side of the box with the bowl being severely mutilated, the toilet bowl in inside the box is OK. This toilet is going to replace my regular height Mansfield alto. The regular height alto is going to be donated to the Habitat for Humanity. As you can see, there is Mansfield # 211 flush valve on top of the box. That will be used to replace the flapper flush valve that came installed in the tank. I will post a video of the toilet once it’s installed.
Unfortunately, the Americans Standard Rumson had to be replaced due to it not working well with plumbing system ventilation issues on my end of the building. When ever the washer goes on its draining and spin cycles, it causes just about all the water to be sucked out of the bowl, and it also causes the toilet to backup when flushed until after the machine is finished running. Other toilets I’ve had installed in my apartment have dealt with this situation a lot better. Unfortunately, last Sunday, when I flushed the American standard Rumson bowl washing machine was in the middle of the draining/spin cycle, it massively overflowed, leaving me cleaning up toilet water at 7:30 in the morning, which is something I don’t really want to do and shouldn’t be doing. Luckily, the water was clean and not full of nastiness. I also noticed with this toilet that if the water is too low in the bowl, it won’t flush and drain properly. So ordered and had a Mansfield Alto delivered, and I installed it Wednesday evening after work. This toilet seems to flush normally even if the water in the bowl is low. It also has a deeper bowl which will better contain any back ups. Eventually, I will be getting a Snart Height version when I can afford it. I got a good deal on the elongated regular height version which is what I have installed now. So far I’m very happy with this toilet and it works better with the fucked up plumbing system in my end of the building. As for the Rumson, it will be getting reinstalled in the office bathroom at work to replace a 2004 Eljer Patriot, where it will function properly and work better with normal plumbing.
I might be getting a 1950s Ming Green “Standard” Cadet soon. The cost is $50, & it looks to be in decent condition as well as complete. The toilet seat is definitely going to go because it’s one of those stained wood ones that’s completely rotted and falling apart. The toilet appears to have its original handle, but I’m not so sure about the rest of the tank parts, including the flush valve. I plan on switching it over to a tilt valve anyway. I’ll keep everyone posted about this.
The Brand New 2025 American Standard Rumson is finally installed in my bathroom. I really like the look of this toilet as well as the flush. The outward styling is somewhat reminiscent of the 1950s “Standard“ Cadet.
Last Tuesday, I replaced the 2005 Eljer Patriot in the shop with a brand new Project Source Pro-Flush toilet from Lowe’s. The new toilet not only functions and performs better than the old one, but it also looks a lot better too. The tank broke on the old toilet when I heaved it into the dumpster.
I snagged this Mansfield Summit Elongated toilet for $183 on Amazon, which was an excellent deal, and I also bought this black Bemis open-front commercial toilet seat for it for around $27. This toilet will be getting installed in my bathroom to replace the Round Mansfield Summit toilet that is currently in there now. The Round Mansfield Summit will be getting reinstalled elsewhere. There’s nothing at all wrong with the round Mansfield Summit. It’s a great toilet, but I just prefer an elongated toilet in my bathroom.
The Summit is getting reinstalled in my bathroom. Although the Glacier Bay Powerflush is a very good toilet, I feel like the Summit has a slightly better bowl rinse at the back of the bowl.
