I might be getting a 1950s Ming Green “Standard” Cadet soon. The cost is $50, & it looks to be in decent condition as well as complete. The toilet seat is definitely going to go because it’s one of those stained wood ones that’s completely rotted and falling apart. The toilet appears to have its original handle, but I’m not so sure about the rest of the tank parts, including the flush valve. I plan on switching it over to a tilt valve anyway. I’ll keep everyone posted about this.
The Brand New 2025 American Standard Rumson is finally installed in my bathroom. I really like the look of this toilet as well as the flush. The outward styling is somewhat reminiscent of the 1950s “Standard“ Cadet.
Last Tuesday, I replaced the 2005 Eljer Patriot in the shop with a brand new Project Source Pro-Flush toilet from Lowe’s. The new toilet not only functions and performs better than the old one, but it also looks a lot better too. The tank broke on the old toilet when I heaved it into the dumpster.
I snagged this Mansfield Summit Elongated toilet for $183 on Amazon, which was an excellent deal, and I also bought this black Bemis open-front commercial toilet seat for it for around $27. This toilet will be getting installed in my bathroom to replace the Round Mansfield Summit toilet that is currently in there now. The Round Mansfield Summit will be getting reinstalled elsewhere. There’s nothing at all wrong with the round Mansfield Summit. It’s a great toilet, but I just prefer an elongated toilet in my bathroom.
The Summit is getting reinstalled in my bathroom. Although the Glacier Bay Powerflush is a very good toilet, I feel like the Summit has a slightly better bowl rinse at the back of the bowl.
Today, this brand new Glacier Bay Powerflush toilet 🚽 will be installed to replace the Briggs Maelstrom because the Maelstrom has a poor bowl rinse, & I’m tired of having to clean it every day. Even though the flush is good on this toilet, the bowl rinse is absolutely pitiful.
1970s American Standard Cadet at an Abandon Gas Station in Denville, NJ. I’ll have to come back here in the daytime & do a photo of the inside of the tank. The lock was broken clean off the door. This gas station has been vacant since the late 80s or early 1990s. Luckily, this toilet survived. I’d love to contact the property owner and see if I can take this toilet and clean it up and restore it. The last I checked, this is a block logo cadet that still has its tilt valve along with a late 1980s Fluidmaster 400A. There was also a 1970s or 1980s Kohler well worth water guard in the garage which is now gone. This was only the men’s room that was open. The ladies room is still padlocked. This was formally A Shell Gas Station with a Repair Garage.
2016 Pro Flo Jerritt with rebuilt tank finally installed today. It replaced a damaged & failing 2018 AS Cadet 3. As you can see, a new flush handle, new flush valve with taller overflow pipe, & a new fill valve were installed in this toilet to greatly improve the flush & performance of this toilet. Video will drop shortly.
Another toilet pulled from the building scheduled for demolition was this 2003 American Standard Champion, which was used to replace the 2004 American Standard Cadet in the Ladies Room at The Exchange Bar and Restaurant, which had a weak flush & was clogging almost every day. Man was the Champion heavy but well worth it to install.
