Tariffs - or just a Tax on imported stuff.

I have showcased quite a few products over the years, and have in the videos also talked about the estimated prices that you could expect to pay for this product.
Without making this too political, but everyone knows who's stirring the pot.
But I estimate that prices of stuff, comming or going from the US is going to be all over the places. I have started to get emails from companies that I have affiliated with, telling me about the comming price increases. As I have worked a lot with Chinese companies, the price hikes are quite considerable, towards the US consumer.

As it looks now, US prices on stuff directly from China will be kicked years back. Produces like solar panels and Lithium batteries, use to be way more expensive, but has come down a lot the last few years. Like a powerstation that use to cost $2000 a few years ago is now more like $800 for the same-ish thing. US consumer prices will be like 2-3 years ago. Stuff from China was still cheapest 2-3 years ago. US consumer will now just have to pay more, then the rest of the world.

In fact, it could well be that prices in the rest of the world, on Chinese products will fall. As Americans have previously received generally better prices, due to the tough Chinese competition in US market. If Chinese companies now have to change tack, and compete on, for example, the European market, it will bring fierce competition and lower prices.

But it will all make it difficult for me to give prices on products, as it is constantly changing and can be very different depending on whether you are in the US or the rest of the world.

So today YouTube turns 20 Years. I just got a notices the other day, that I had been on the platform for 11 years! how time flies...
YouTube has really not changed that much, and when they do make changes, they make sure to do the slowly, so we all have time to adjust. I kind of like that!

But that brings me to my own little adjustment,,, I have stopped using Twitter. I have always had the mindset that I do not criticize or speak disparagingly about my "X", as I think it reflects poorly on me. Sinces the last management changes, I no longer feel the same for this X, The little blue birdt, flew away, and it all became dark and evil.

I am doing the same stuff now with BlueSky, as I use to do with me X ,, just better ( if she asks!! )

I do not promote my Patreon nearly enough, and yesterday when I uploaded my 400th video to Patreon I thought it might be time, to give it a little push. So on my Patreon : www.patreon.com/myplayhouse Video No.400 is free to watch.
The economy is not doing too bad at the moment,, and as I have not adjusted the membership prices on patreon for inflation since I started in 2017 it is not really expensive,, there is only a $1 and a $3 tier. I rather have 10 people on $1 than one person on $10,, it's not all about the money. But I would love to attract some new members, as I have clearly not been doing a very good job, promoting my patreon.

I do this 5-12min. Sunday "What's Up" video for my patreons,, mostly for both tiers, sometimes only for the $3 tier. Then I hang out on Discord,,1-2 hours (Sunday at 21.00 CET - ish)

This is a hard one! as to be quite hornist, I am not doing to bad, I do not worry where the next meal is going to come from,, think you know what I mean. But on the other hand, it makes me a bit "sad" when I see that I am losing patreons,, kind of like when you die in a computer game "sad". So if you are also not doing to bad,, do consider signing up as a member, on my patreon,, just to make me happy.

I am on my last day In Portugal,, for this trip, always a bit sad to leave.

My mountain Internet worked perfectly this time, only went up the mountain to see it,, and on this gray day the battery was at 13,1 volt. Perfect 👍

Last day here, but first day in the driveway for the rental car,, this was a huge project,, 13 tons of concrete 5 days of work for 3 man.

There will be coming a little bike video next week, ENGWE X26,, a beast of a bike,, 48V 28,8Ah battery, 1000W motor, but I saw up to 1330W. So we go for a little drive, I managed to put one foot deep in mud, and both feet in a creek. 🤬 awesome. Could really use an action camera for just this sort of filming.

I also had a beer with Jesper,, now and again and again and again 😬 Jesper is my mom’s husband,, for clarification 🤔

I have done a bit of a catch up video, with updates to my different projects here,,, probably late next week, like Friday 😬

A new year, and lots of opportunities, what's it going to be this year :-) I will start out the year, by trying to help out a friend. I have a childhood friend that I have known since we were 10-12 years old. and we have been celebrating New Years together since we were teenagers.
So this New Year he tells me, that he has stopped playing guitar, because of arthritis in his fingers. (F* I feel old,, he is a year younger than me) but he has starter posting his digital chill out music online.

I will ask you, to help me, help my friend. I have listened to all his music, and it is really good. But finding an audiences in the music business is really hard. So if you would pop by and give him a listen.

The other night the MikroTik 4G router on top of the mountain,, stopped seeing the SIMcard,, and I had to go up there to figure it out 🤔 took this nice picture of it!

And they got the little tour around my house here in Central Portugal.

In the world of Server and Storage, we do not like unscheduled downtime! So to not piss off all the server administrators, who watch me, I better announce some planned downtime.

I am planning not to release any new videos, on YouTube in the month of August, this year.
Would have liked to tell you when I last took a brake,, but it been so long that I do not remember when it was,, but it was also in August,, well before Corona,, some time. (I cheated and looked,, it was 2019 I took the last brake (and only brake))

August is typically the month, when I get the fewest views. Guess you are also taking a break :-)
