There's a tremendous problem regarding 'hotstar apk version' which is not allowing to record. So here's my solution for a subscription free, hd quality & effective way of recording clips from hotstar:-

1) Download 'Ad guard apk' app from chrome and turn it on.
2) Go to hotstar website in chrome and turn on the desktop mode.
3) Use the recorder you are comfortable with & record clips.

*MOST IMPORTANT* - FIRST TURN ON THE DESKTOP MODE, AFTER THAT ONLY VISIT THE HOTSTAR WEBSITE! OTHERWISE IT WON'T OPEN AND WOULD SHOW A MESSAGE REGARDING SUBSCRIPTION!!

DISADVANTAGE - Audio won't be recorded.
USABILITY - Hd quality videos, ad free.
