Nakkia Gold is a singer, songwriter, dancer & producer from South Central, Los Angeles, CA.
Her opportunity to make her debut as a solo artist came as a surprise at a critical moment in her life: The same day of her mother's passing. She caught the attention of SMG's founder and mega music executive Haim Saban after hearing her background vocals on a demo track. Haim immediately signed Nakkia to the label. From there, she made one of her first singles "Justice (Get Up, Stand Up)," which was eventually heard by Cedella Marley, Bob Marley's daughter. Cedella Marley gave Nakkia her full blessing to use her father's iconic lyrics. Grammy-award and Golden Globe-nominated rapper Wiz Khalifa hopped on the track igniting Nakkia Gold to rebirth the 1973 militant anthem.
Inspired by her core belief that "music tells a story," she distinguishes herself & empowers her audience with her soulful and arresting voice that weaves emotion, sound and rich, melodic texture rooted in R&B & Hip Hop.
