Dear Darien

“Take it all in” — like what most of you have said to me. My surrogacy journey that took over 2 plus years of my life is coming to an end. My journey with “kuya” also comes to an end. I have no job, I have no special someone & I have .. no baby.

But ironically, I am fine. I enjoyed my surrogacy journey: driving through the majestic rice fields of Mindanao, looking up at the bright blue sky with someone I loved so dearly & taking a much needed break from America. It’s hard to be sad when you enjoyed every moment of a romance.

I’m not mad at kuya, I’m disappointed. I could never hate him .. for long. I have no feeling towards the surrogate. She has had 9 kids whom she gave all up for adoption — her brain is simply wired differently. Ironically, they have a life that enchants me. It’s simple: family and food and friends with nature all around them. Minus the scams, it literal goals.

I’ll always have fond memories of my time in Mindanao, it will always have a place in my heart & it will always be a place I revisit, if only, in my day dreams.
