One day, Mulla Nasruddin was invited to the emperor’s grand dinner. He arrived in simple clothes, but the guards refused to let him enter. Nasruddin went home, changed into expensive robes, and returned.
This time, everyone welcomed him with great respect. During the meal, Nasruddin started putting food into the sleeves of his robe. The emperor asked why he was doing that.
