I analyze and critique media and make tribute videos as part of a memorial series for my younger brother Jamison, who died in 2018.

I joined Hard Cut for their review of Osgood Perkins's Keeper. Tearing apart Longlegs wasn't enough for me. Check it out. ‪@hardcutreviews‬

Keep an eye out for Hard Cut's review of Keeper on Saturday, December 6th at 11:30 AM CST, just 11 hours from now. I had the extremely exciting honor of joining Matt and Bobby for this one. ‪@hardcutreviews‬

The classy and talented ladies of ‪@hardcutreviews‬ will be joining me on my first ever stream Tuesday, October 28th at 7 or 8 PM Central Time (or about 9-10 AM on the 29th if you're in Korea like me). The topic: them, and why their channel has quickly become one of my favorites. I have a lot of questions for these gals, and I'd appreciate my legions of subscribers bringing their some of their own.

Don't miss it. In the meantime, go check out Hard Cut. Watch their Longlegs video, then come back here and watch mine, then go back to them and watch more of their stuff. Make sure to leave lots of comments asking them to review Prometheus and explain how it fits into the Alien canon.

This Saturday, May 17th at 8 PM EST/7 PM CT I'll be chatting with Johnny of Hyper Tension Films on his stream for about an hour. Come hang out. And go subscribe to Hyper Tension Films while you're at it. Off the top of my head, his videos on Silent Hill 2 and its recent remake are among the best I've ever watched covering that particular game.

I forgot to post this before midnight in Korea, but right now in the U.S. it's still April 20th. It's the six-year anniversary of Always on My Mind, my tribute series to my late brother Jamison. Six years ago I hiked that mountain with my camera, recorded my intro explaining the series, edited the footage into the first episode, and published it. I've hiked that same mountain to make a video for every anniversary since then until this year. There's only one episode left in the series, and I'm still nowhere close to being done with it, so I had nothing to attach footage to, and so I didn't go this year. (Hilariously, early last year I was planning to have the final episode completed and published on the five-year anniversary of the series. A year later and it's staggering how much I still have left to do for it.)

I did prepare a video (titled Always on My Mind EP71.9 Idiotic Subtitle Before the End in reference to all the Kingdom Hearts "spin-off" games with bizarre subtitles being released during the thirteenish years between Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts III) for this year's anniversary, but it's full of optional Kingdom Hearts III side content that I did for the sake of completion because Jamison and I would always try to complete everything in games back in the day. I didn't feel that this content would fit into any of the last several episodes of the series without ruining the pacing and detracting from the tone, so I compiled it all, along with a few little bonus flourishes, into its own side video. I made it mostly for myself so that I wouldn't have to live with the feeling that I left something out of the series, but it's sure to be profoundly uninteresting to everyone else. It's not even public on my channel because I don't want anyone happening upon it and thinking that it represents what I do. So it's a part of the series, but it's also not. Kingdom Hearts has a few contradictory nonsense concepts like that, so I think it fits.

In the bizarre and puzzling event that anyone does want to watch it, I've included the link in this post, but I honestly wouldn't want to watch it if I were you. I am in fact me, and I barely feel like I have any reason to watch it now that I've made it. To make the video slightly special, I included footage of me fighting the secret bosses from the Final Mix versions of Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II. It was my first time fighting the first one, and it was my first time fighting the second one legitimately. Jamison and I knew about the Final Mix version of Kingdom Hearts when we were young, but back then it had only been released in Japan, so we couldn't play it. But we'd have liked to. We watched footage from it and made music videos that included a few clips from it. Funnily enough, now that I've finally played both, I actually prefer the original version of Kingdom Hearts to the Final Mix version for a handful of reasons.

I had a wonderful picnic with my family today (yesterday in Korea). The final episode of Always on My Mind will hopefully be out later this year.

Here in South Korea it's after midnight. I've wrapped up 2024 with a total of 1,246 subscribers. It might not be a lot, but it's more than 1,240. More than 1,242, even. Let's get that number up to 100k in 2025 somehow. Thank you everyone. Happy New Year!

New and old subscribers, what sort of content would you like to watch from me (Baby Arms) in the future? Long-form analyses and critiques like I've done for Longlegs, The Batman, Minority Report, and Cobweb? (I can make maybe 1-3 of these per year unless my life drastically changes.) Shorter videos sharing my general thoughts over barely-edited trailer footage interspersed with derpy memes you can see coming a mile away? What I just said, but without the memes?

Vote below, and because I know everyone will definitely also do this, leave me a comment to really hammer your choice in!

My son was born two days ago. I'm not planning on sharing his name or pictures online, at least not right now, but I figured I ought to announce that. He and my wife are both doing well.

As for the future of this channel, the end of my Always on My Mind tribute series for my brother Jamison is coming later this year. It won't be for everyone, but I've never been as proud of something I've made as I am of this.

Beyond that, I have plans for other story analysis videos but no timeframe, not even a tentative one, for when they'll be released. I can't make this a regular thing at all with everything I've got going on, but here and there stuff you might like will pop up. Thanks to everyone who's subscribed to me.

Today is the five-year anniversary of my tribute series for Jamison Bagwell, Always on My Mind. I had originally planned for the last episode, 72, to be published today. When it became clear that that wasn't going to happen, I decided to at least have 71 ready to publish today. That's also now impossible; I spent 37 hours, 50 minutes, and 15 seconds exporting the file only to get a 1 KB unplayable file at the end due to a glitch.

I didn't want to do nothing for the five-year anniversary, though, so I've made a preview for episode 71. I'll publish that as soon as it's ready and then take all the time I need to figure out what's going on with my export.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who submitted. This episode is incredible.

I'm late, but merry Christmas (or whatever you celebrate) to all my viewers, and happy New Year. Next year I'll finally be finishing my tribute series to my late brother, and I've got plans for several deep dive movie analysis videos. Look forward to those. What are your goals for the coming year?
